Team/Role Overview:

The Fintech Sales Head - UK, Europe & MEA is a critical leadership role, focusing on one of the fastest growing client segments. Prior experience covering the Fintech sector is preferred. The successful candidate will drive the strategic growth and development of our Fintech client base in the cluster, working with internal partners to deliver Citi’s full capabilities to clients.

The role directly reports to the Global Head of Fintech Sales, with a matrix report to the Head of UK & Europe FI Sales.

What you’ll do:

Strategic Fintech Growth: Lead the strategic development, sales origination, cross-sell, and retention for the cluster Fintech portfolio, focusing on expanding the client base and deepening wallet penetration through innovative solutions.

Transaction Banking Expertise: Design and execute complex, multi-product, and multi-region deals leveraging the entire TTS product suite (Core Cash Management, Trade Finance, Trade Services), demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of transaction banking principles.

Client Leadership: Serve as the primary global point of accountability, driving client engagement, ensuring high client satisfaction, cultivating key relationships, and proactively identifying new opportunities.

Market & Industry Authority: Maintain unparalleled knowledge of FinTech sectors, market trends, regulatory landscapes, and emerging technologies, particularly within VASPs and the Crypto space, through continuous client interaction, industry events, and research. Act as a recognized authority within Services, ensuring offerings are competitive and relevant.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Effectively manage and drive deal teams, working closely with internal partners in Banking, Compliance, Risk, Product Management, Client Delivery, Operations and Technology to deliver integrated solutions.

Risk Management & Compliance: Ensure all business decisions and activities adhere to Citi’s ethical standards, policies, and regulatory requirements, safeguarding the firm’s reputation and fostering a culture of compliance.

Innovation. Champion a culture of innovation, driving digitization and the adoption of cutting-edge technologies to enhance client experience and operational efficiency.

Talent Development. Lead and manage a diverse multi-country sales team. Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.

What we’ll need from you:

  • Significant direct senior product/sales leadership or relationship management experience, leading multi-country sales/relationship teams.
  • Strong demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate, influence and manage in a complex environment.
  • Extensive and demonstrable experience covering the Fintech sector is essential, with specific and deep expertise in VASPs and Crypto.
  • Experienced strategic sales leader capable of designing innovative sales growth plans and tactical responses. Significant experience in sales origination, client management, and business development within financial services.
  • Deep understanding of transaction banking and its practical application to complex client needs.
  • Proven track record of leading complex, multi-product, and multi-region deals.
  • In-depth knowledge of cash management, trade finance, and trade services products.
  • Strong understanding of banking operations, market practices, and relevant regulations.
  • A highly self-directed individual with a strategic mindset, capable of independently identifying opportunities and driving initiatives from conception to completion.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, partner with clients and galvanize cross-functional teams.
  • Experience delivering results and exceeding financial objectives.
