What Youll Be Doing

As an Engineer Surveyor you will carry out statutory and contractual inspections across a range of mechanical equipment. This is a varied role where no 2 days are the same, from completing inspections at a football ground, to ensuring equipment is safe and compliant at a zoo. Youll play a key role in helping our clients stay compliant, safe, and operational, all while working within a supportive, expert-led environment.

Start: June 2026 If you are at the stage where running the mechanical package is no longer enough and you want proper control of a landmark MEP job, this is the sort of role that gives you that scope. You would be joining an established building services contractor with deep roots in the residential market, delivering mechanical, electrical, plumbing and heating packages across London and the Home Counties since the 1970’s. Their work is built around full design and installation delivery, with strong experience across low and high-rise residential schemes and a track record of taking projects from concept through to completion. The live opportunity is a major purpose-built student accommodation development in Brent Cross Town. Plot 43b comprises 666 units in a part-10, part-18 and part-21 storey building, with the detailed MEPH design having moved into RIBA Stage 4 in March 2026. The scheme sits within a wider regeneration phase and is clearly the sort of high-density residential build where programme, coordination and technical leadership matter from the outset. This is not a paperwork-heavy manager title where you sit above the detail and chase updates. It is a delivery role for someone who can lead the MEP package properly, with a mechanical bias, while still keeping control of the wider services picture. The package is understood to be around £20m and the building itself carries the kind of technical scope that demands strong plant, riser, distribution, life safety and interface management across a multi-storey environment. The mechanical side is where you will earn your keep. This development is tied into Brent Cross Town’s all-electric low carbon heat network, which is being delivered using air source heat pumps, electric boilers and thermal stores. On top of that, the building typology points to the usual pressures that come with dense residential delivery at this scale, including central plant distribution, ventilation strategy, fire safety interfaces, and the coordination of services through a tall building envelope with multiple stakeholder touchpoints. What makes this role attractive is the timing. Joining in June gives you the chance to get in ahead of the heavier installation phase, influence the preconstruction-to-delivery handover properly, and set the tone on programme, procurement, subcontract management, technical submissions, buildability, commissioning strategy and handover expectations before the job hits full pace. You would be expected to take ownership of day-to-day project delivery, lead coordination across the mechanical and wider MEP package, manage subcontractors and specialist suppliers, chair progress and technical meetings, keep commercial and programme pressures under control, and drive standards on quality, health and safety, commissioning and close-out. This needs someone who can operate comfortably between the site, the design team and the client side without losing grip of the detail. Job Purpose / Overview

The SAM will therefore be a technical management role, responsible for delivering the PLM solution from the initial prototype to the final deployment quality, for the project, in relation with the CALM Programme Manager.

Principal Accountabilities, Activities and Decisions
In that context, the PLM Solution Architect Manager will :

  • Be responsible for the successful development and deployment of all aspects of the CALM programme related to the Tool, Data and Processes, defining and maintaining the overall PLM architecture (data model, workflows, integrations).

  • Set up and lead a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) of about 20 embedded people from various business branches and external partners (architects, engineers, analysts), overseeing the general architecture and securing main dependencies

  • Remain closely connected and work with HPC and Responsible Designer teams to ensure feedback from and further development of SWITCH (CALM equivalent on HPC, EPR2 etc) is properly considered in the SZC development strategy

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical field. A recognised project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or APM PMQ is highly desirable.

Hands-on involvement in POS integration, video analytics, facial recognition software, access control, intrusion detection, and CCTV surveillance technologies.

Familiarity with safety system design and compliance requirements, such as emergency notification systems, mass communication platforms, and relevant H&S and life safety standards.

About the Anthro JV:
The Anthro joint venture between Egis and VVB Engineering will provide comprehensive turn-key services for London’s state-of-the-art HS2 gateway station at Old Oak Common. We have been awarded a multi-year contract to deliver MEPHFC (Mechanical, Electrical Public Health, Fire and Communications) systems works.

About the Role:

To assist the Delivery Manager with the delivery of the BEMS/BMS Packages at Old Oak Common Station. This will involve working with the Delivery Manager, project team, 3rd party design consultants, main contractor, Siemens SBS and 3rd party installation contractors to safely deliver the project, on time, to stated quality, at minimum cost and to client satisfaction.

BMS projects rely on accurate technical delivery. Gaps between design and installation can lead to delays, rework, and performance issues. A capable BMS Engineer helps ensure systems are delivered correctly, supporting smooth commissioning, reliable operation, and long-term building performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Delivery Manager to deliver the project to meet cost, time, and quality requirements.
  • Reviewing designs, specifications, and control strategies in line with current project applicable HS2, NR, BS, EN and ISO standards and to ensure buildability and constructability.
  • Assisting Procurement of mechanical, public health, fire, electrical and BEMS equipment to ensure that BEMS requirements are fully compatible with the selected equipment including liaising with manufacturers.
  • Identify any weakness or errors in the design that could jeopardise the functionality.
  • Reviewing BMS drawings, 3D Models and documentation.
  • Coordinating site installation while ensuring HSE best practices are always followed.
  • Coordinating any technical queries throughout design, installation and commissioning.
  • Programming and configuring BMS systems where required.
  • Supporting testing, commissioning, and system validation.
  • Support the Assurance team as required to comply with requirements of the HS2 and BBVS procedures.
  • Assisting with handover documentation and client training.
  • Mentor and support junior staff, contributing to continuous team development and technical excellence.
