What you’ll be doing:

You will join a multi‑skilled team developing and assuring nuclear training that underpins nuclear safety. This role provides technical leadership for Track Systems scope, ensuring the integrated delivery, assurance, and governance of multidisciplinary design in line with HS2 contractual requirements.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the Lead Engineering Manager / Engineering Lead (Lot) in the coordination and delivery of design for the allocated Lot, from Scheme Design through Detailed Design, construction support and As-Built stages, in accordance with the Works Information and HS2 assurance processes

  • Support the management of internal and external interfaces within the Lot, while contributing to the alignment and resolution of route-wide interface matters in coordination with the central Track Engineering function
  • Participate in technical reviews (IDC / IDR), progressive assurance activities and CDM compliance, escalating strategic or high-risk matters to the Lead Engineering Manager as appropriate
  • Support working-level engagement with the Client and interfacing contractors, ensuring communication is consistent with the route-wide engineering position and direction set by the Lead Engineering Manager and Engineering Director
  • Assist in identifying, monitoring and mitigating technical risks and opportunities at Lot level, contributing to route-wide optimisation and knowledge-sharing initiatives
  • Where required, provide support during change processes for Lot-related scope, including coordination of designer inputs and coordinating preparation of technical responses

The Reliability Engineer will play a key role within the multi-disciplinary maintenance team. The role is responsible for improving equipment reliability, plant availability, and maintenance effectiveness through the implementation of reliability engineering principles, predictive maintenance strategies, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Reliability Engineer will analyse equipment performance, identify failure modes, and implement solutions to reduce downtime and improve operational efficiency while supporting a safe and sustainable working environment.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and implement reliability strategies to improve plant availability and performance
  • Analyse equipment failures and performance trends using reliability tools and data analysis
  • Lead root cause analysis investigations and implement corrective actions
  • Support and enhance predictive and preventative maintenance programmes
  • Monitor key reliability KPIs such as MTBF, MTTR, and equipment availability
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce maintenance costs and downtime
  • Support planning and execution of plant shutdowns and major maintenance activities
  • Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to identify reliability risks
  • Provide technical support for troubleshooting complex equipment issues
  • Manage and support reliability improvement projects from concept through to implementation and commissioning
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and reliability records within the CMMS (e.g., SAP PM)

We are seeking an experienced Service Design Lead to join a high-profile government programme for a 6-month contract. This role is inside IR35, based in Milton Keynes, and requires an Active SC Clearance. The role offers a flexible 3 days per week onsite and a competitive daily rate of £590/day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end service design for large-scale IT and digital services, translating business, user, and operational requirements into coherent, cost-effective Service Design Packages (SDPs).
  • Provide direction, coaching, and professional development for Service Designers, building capability and excellence across the team.
  • Deputise for senior technology leaders and engage with senior stakeholders and governance forums, providing clear, evidence-based service advice.
  • Apply Agile, user-centred, and human-centred design principles, co-leading design workshops to solve strategic problems.
  • Design secure or air-gapped platforms within government frameworks, ensuring alignment with NCSC, GDS, and UK government security standards.

  • Proven experience leading service design, delivery, and governance of large-scale IT or digital services.
  • Experience designing for government security classifications and knowledge of Secure by Design, Cloud Security Principles, Government Functional Standards, and the Technology Code of Practice.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with experience managing and developing teams.
  • In-depth understanding of service design principles, IT service management frameworks, and end-to-end service lifecycle management.
  • Awareness of accessibility, inclusion, and usability standards within digital and operational services.

Desirable:

  • Membership of a recognised professional body such as BCS or IET.
  • Experience designing for OFFICIAL and above government security classifications.
  • Knowledge of AI technologies to improve operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making.
