Job Description

The Senior Project Manager will lead Project Management commissions, taking full responsibility for end-to-end service delivery. The role involves managing large complex projects and acting as the primary day-to-day client interface, ensuring that client objectives are achieved and that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Accountabilities

Project Management Responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic advice at the project conception stage, to successfully achieve the clients overall objectives.

Defining and leading the establishment of project success criteria, including time, cost, technical and performance parameters.
Planning for and managing quality, safety, health and environmental requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Establishing effective project governance structures, processes and systems to be applied across the project.
Leading project planning activities.
Advising on the procurement strategy and the engagement of appropriate resources.
Leading, coordinating and motivating cross-functional, multidisciplinary project teams.
Monitoring performance and applying performance management techniques.
Managing and controlling change processes to ensure alignment with project objectives.
Monitoring project financial performance.
Managing the flow of project information between the project team and the client through regular meetings and formal written communications.
Ensuring the timely production of project progress reports and other required documentation.
Playing a leading role in interfacing with clients, consultants and stakeholders at all stages of the project.

Qualifications

Proven international experience managing complex projects, preferably within the hospitality, construction or built environment sectors.
Corporate fit out experience preferred.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
Full professional proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with international clients and stakeholders.
Strong technical competencies, including project planning, cost control, risk management and coordination of multidisciplinary teams.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with demonstrated capabilities in leadership, negotiation, effective communication and conflict management.
Proficient in relevant project management and technical tools, including MS Project, AutoCAD and Excel.
Willingness and availability to travel and demonstrate mobility in line with project requirements.

At BAM we are now recruiting for an Engineering Manager to join the HS2 Track infrastructure project at the initial design phase which will run concurrently with the completion of main works contracts, which are now at their peak. The team will be ready to mobilise as soon as the civil works are complete and will operate under a collaborative Rail Systems Alliance structure, designed to manage interfaces and resolve any program conflicts. The members will work together on design, access, resources, and logistics to achieve shared goals for cost and schedule.

You will support the Lead Engineering Manager / Engineering Lead (Lot) in coordinating and delivering design activities for the allocated Lotfrom Scheme Design through Detailed Design, construction support, and As-Built stagesin accordance with the Works Information and HS2 assurance processes.

Your team

The role will be based out of our project office in Birmingham, near Snow Hill.

Making Possible

  • Acts as the Lot-level engineering focal point, coordinating day-to-day design delivery with Construction, Commercial, Planning and Project Controls teams to ensure alignment of design outputs with programme, cost and construction sequencing requirements.
  • Is embedded within the route-wide Track Engineering function, ensuring consistency of technical standards, governance, assurance processes and design integration across all Lots.
  • Acts as a key link between Lot delivery and the central Track engineering structure, supporting coherent implementation of engineering strategies, technical decisions and interface management across the route.
  • Coordinates and monitors the performance and outputs of Designers and specialist design subcontractors/suppliers at Lot level, ensuring that design deliverables are compliant, integrated, buildable and aligned with route-wide technical principles.
  • Supports the management of internal and external interfaces within the Lot, while contributing to the alignment and resolution of route-wide interface matters in coordination with the central Track Engineering function.
  • Participates in technical reviews (IDC / IDR), progressive assurance activities and CDM compliance, escalating strategic or high-risk matters to the Lead Engineering Manager as appropriate.
  • Supports working-level engagement with the Client and interfacing contractors, ensuring communication is consistent with the route-wide engineering position and direction set by the Lead Engineering Manager and Engineering Director.
  • Assists in identifying, monitoring and mitigating technical risks and opportunities at Lot level, contributing to route-wide optimisation and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Where required, provides support during change processes for Lot-related scope, including coordination of designer inputs and coordinating preparation of technical responses.
  • Provides technical input and support to relevant commercial communications (SNCs, NCRs, CEs, Departures, etc.).
  • Attends the weekly meetings with the construction team and broader design team and client in Birmingham and/or London.

  • Chartered Civil Engineering / Rail Civil Engineer /Architect or equivalent. Masters degree from an accredited institution.

COMPEX Engineer - Day Shift Role (Mon to Fri) Job Description To ensure that all equipment within NovoGen's control is correctly maintained and repaired, maximising plant efficiency and the safety of all personnel at all times. To maintain and improve standards of Health and Safety, Quality and housekeeping and to report any short comings promptly. To maintain production equipment in Zoned Areas across various client sites. To carry out, within competency levels, management of maintenance activities, fault finding, repair, decommissioning and re-commissioning. Main Tasks To safely operate and maintain plant items under NovoGens control, ensuring 100% service delivery is supplied to the client under contract KPIs. Respond accordingly during emergency situations and follow documented procedures. Report all accidents, occupational illnesses and emergencies. Provide effective feedback to the client to ensure awareness of equipment issues. Provide absence and holiday cover within the wider team as required. To take responsibility for defects and follow up on any repairs. Identify and take ownership of specific improvement projects. Act as a point of contact for call-outs.
