Your New Role

As an Operations Engineer, you will play a vital role in monitoring and supporting WBD’s Global television distribution infrastructure, particularly for our Live Events output. Reporting to the Senior Director of Distribution Engineering, you’ll be part of a dynamic Tier 1 operations support team. Your versatile skill set will be essential as you navigate challenging situations with calmness and expertise.

Your Role Accountabilities
  • Monitor all of WB Discovery’s channels.
  • Manage transmission systems during normal and emergency conditions to keep services on air.
  • Respond to affiliate inquiries and maintain ongoing communication with customers.
  • Act as a liaison between support teams and customers, collaborating across all leadership levels.
  • Initiate critical outage situations and manage incident and planned work tickets.
  • Liaise with third-party providers during fault investigations.
  • Provide input and reports on transmission system reliability.
  • Check the health of Distribution equipment regularly.
  • Identify and address potential risks in our distribution infrastructure.
  • Assist in training and developing Distribution Staff Members.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience in a broadcast, media, or telecommunications environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of television distribution systems, platforms, and standards.
  • Working knowledge of digital baseband signals, SDI, HD-SDI, and ASI.
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP Network concepts, including multicast traffic.
  • Experience with SMPTE 2110 and Television Distribution Systems.
  • Ability to operate test and analysis equipment.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting signal quality issues and systems integration.
  • Knowledge of MPEG-2/4 encoding technology and TVRO receive systems.
  • Strong computer literacy and excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to work overnight, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Network & Wireless Support Engineer to visit my clients London-based customers.

This is a field-focused role, where you’ll spend much of your time on-site delivering support and installations, alongside remote working from home or our London office.

You’ll be part of a highly skilled team and will play a key role in delivering a premium, customer-facing technical service.

Key Responsibilities

Support & Incident Management

  • Take ownership of on-site fault tickets from diagnosis through to resolution
  • Work closely with escalation teams when required

What you will be doing

The Reprographics Site Services Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of the reprographics department within a legal environment. This role ensures high-quality document production and timely service delivery while managing a team across two shifts. The supervisor will act as the primary point of contact for service issues, maintain compliance standards, and support team development. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and previous experience managing a team.

Operational Management

Manage the daily running of the reprographics department to ensure smooth operations.

Oversee and coordinate a team working across two shifts, including scheduling, team meetings, performance appraisals, and managing sickness/absence.

Monitor the ServiceNow portal, ensuring all jobs are assigned and completed promptly.

Maintain Quality Control for all jobs delivered and logged on the portal.

Service Delivery

Provide hands-on support when required for services such as:

Print, Copy, Scan, and Finishing

Document processing

Legal bundles and USB Bibles

Address and resolve any customer concerns or service issues promptly and professionally.

Compliance & Reporting

Complete daily and monthly trackers to monitor performance and service levels.

Assist with Health & Safety documentation and ensure compliance with site audit requirements.

Team Development

Support and assist with team training initiatives to maintain high standards of service.

You will ideally have

  • Proven experience in reprographics or document services within a legal or professional services environment including bundles and electronic bibles
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Microsoft Office Support: Use Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint at a medium proficiency level for daily tasks.
  • Basic Document Processing: Perform tasks such as cropping, paginating, bookmarking, adding/removing pages, and managing track changes
  • Attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
