The Fire Alarm Service and Commissioning Engineer is to work on commercial fire alarm panels within corporate buildings throughout London. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, fault finding, commissioning, a wide range of conventional fire alarm systems across large office and commercial environments.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working on commercial fire alarm systems and be confident working with leading manufacturers such as Advanced, Gent, Notifier, Morley, Kentec, or similar. A strong understanding of BS5839 standards and current fire safety regulations is essential. You must be competent in system diagnostics, panel programming, cause and effect testing, and completing full system commissioning and handover documentation.

Main Duties:

About the role:

The Cyber Security Incident Response Specialist would be member of CSIRT, part of Counter Threat & Engineering (CT&E) function, responding to cyber threats and security incidents globally. The team operates out of bp hubs in Houston (U.S), Sunbury (U.K), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Pune (India), and Singapore. The Security Operations Center (SOC) raises incidents to CSIRT, which responds to the incidents by conducting investigations using digital forensics, advanced techniques, and collaborating across bp. Team members must understand bp’s business segments and address a broad range of security-related questions. You will help ensure enterprise security, enabling safe and secure business operations as part of this global team.

The CSIRT is part of our wider CT&E team that is responsible for protecting bp against cyber threats. This role also requires you to be on an on-call Rota few times throughout the year.

What you will deliver:
  • Support the bp SOC as an escalation point for security events and incidents.
  • Conduct digital forensic investigations on high-priority incidents to include functions such as host (disk and memory) forensics, network forensics and log analysis.
  • Work across Digital Security and the bp business functions to partner on incidents and to ensure all appropriate actions are being taken and communicated.
  • Conduct advanced threat hunting by using threat intelligence and the MITRE ATT&CK framework to proactively identify suspicious activity in the environment.
  • Ensure data accuracy within the case management system and others.
  • When not actively responding to incidents, other key responsibilities within the role include development of documentation and processes such as playbooks, refining your skills through training opportunities and identifying and enhancing the capabilities of the team by developing opportunities for automation (i.e., custom scripts and tool integration).

  • Leverage provided RMM tool(s) for monitoring, administration, and remote support
  • Administer and maintain the joiners / movers / leavers process in a timely and secure way
  • Build and distribute corporate hardware while maintaining inventory and asset registers
  • Undertake any additional tasks as may reasonably be required from time to time
  • Work as part of a closely knit team of Service Delivery and collaborate effectively on a daily basis with the other IT teams
  • Participate in the continual improvement of services and processes
  • Create and manage support requests to 3rd party vendors when required and follow to resolution
  • Work with the Change Manager as required per the Change Management process

2nd Line IT Service Desk Engineer Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years previous experience in a similar role as a 2nd Line IT Support in an SLA, CSAT, ITIL driven environment
  • Experience with desktop and server operating systems, O365, SaaS, MDM, and other tools of the trade
  • Working understanding of Active Directory, Exchange, and Microsoft 365, GPO, basic networking, Virtualisation (VMware preferably)
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of computing hardware, including PCs, Servers, mobile devices, and laptops
  • Out of the box troubleshooting, ability to combine information while understanding the larger scale situation, and skills to communicate with non-technical resources of every level
