This is an exciting time to join a modern digital Field Collections Team within HMRC Debt Management, whose core purpose is to collect money to fund UK public services. Field Collections are responsible for pursuit and collection of overdue taxes.
You will interact with people from all walks of life including company directors, sole proprietors and partnerships to secure HMRC debts, including the recording of assets under Taking Control of Goods legislation in England.
Operating in local teams and sectors, with coverage extending to wider geographic areas depending on organisational needs and requirements, you will visit customers at their homes or businesses to gather information, negotiate payment plans, collect payments, or take enforcement action. Advance notice will be provided regarding any overnight stays required for business purposes or training.
You will have a full mobile kit including a laptop, card payment machine, mobile phone, and thermal printer to enable you to carry out your role on the road. You will also be provided with a lone worker health & safety device.

We have a great early career opportunity for a proactive, tech savvy individual, ideally with some experience of AV / event tech equipment, a proactive nature and strong problem-solving skills to join a London law firm as an AV Tech Support Assistant.

Joining the IT department, the AV Tech Support will provide support in the delivery of in-person, virtual and hybrid meetings, events, webinars and seminars across the firm.

You will be responsible for hands-on AV (Audio Visual) support, proactive event setup, real-time troubleshooting and post-event follow-up.

Hours: The standard working hours for this role is 8am-4pm (with an hour lunch break), Monday to Friday; although a degree of flexibility is required in order to support any evening events.

Key responsibilities as the Tech Support Analyst will include:

  • Point of contact for AV and technical event support requests
  • Setting up, operating and supporting AV equipment (including meeting room AV systems, Teams, Zoom, microphones, cameras, speakers, projectors and webinar systems)
  • Providing hands-on, on-site support for the meetings and events (virtual and in-person events and seminars)
  • Troubleshooting AV and connectivity issues calmly and efficiently
  • Performing basic maintenance including testing and fault reporting on AV equipment
  • Providing assistance to colleagues and speakers and communicating technical advice in a non-technical way when needed
  • Maintaining up-to-date documentation, guides and checklists for AV rooms and events
  • Logging and tracking any AV incidents or issues

What we re looking for:

  • Some relevant office experience in a similar role (c6-12+ months in AV Tech Support, Front of House Assistant, Office Assistant, Facilities Coordinator etc)
  • Some experience of supporting with AV equipment and setting up meeting rooms
  • Practical experience of video conferencing platforms (i.e. MS Teams, Zoom, Google Meet etc.)
  • Confident interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise professionally at all levels
  • Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure, especially in live meetings or events
  • Ability to liaise clearly and effectively with non-technical staff
  • Ability to proactively troubleshoot AV tech problems
  • Highly organised, proactive self-starter
  • Strong numeracy skills and accurate attention to details
  • Desire to learn and develop your skills
  • Ability to work the hours listed in the London office, Monday to Friday
