AWE is currently recruiting for a Client Construction Mechanical Supervisor Engineer to be responsible for supporting the Construction Manager in ensuring the successful planning and delivery phases of construction projects. The role will support a significant ‘UK leading’ multi-million-pound forward build programme, of new facilities and associated infrastructure.
  • Ensuring that installation works by Contractors are undertaken to appropriate and specified quality standards (inspect and verification).

  • SSSTS & CSCS (relevant level), or suitable equivalent.
  • Membership of an appropriate professional institution (desirable).
  • Good understanding of current construction Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation/ Regulations, in particular compliance with the 2015 Construction Design Management Regulations.
  • Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance.

About the role of Factory Engineering Manager at Refresco Beverages:

The role involves assisting in the development of engineering tools and techniques, including creating simple setting, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance guides to reduce reliance on OEM training and breakdown support. About the Role

As a Utilities Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring utility service levels consistently support site production demands. You will maintain the highest departmental standards with a strong focus on health & safety, statutory compliance, and environmental monitoring.

You will identify energy-saving initiatives, reduce asset downtime, and support departmental budgets through efficient maintenance and spare parts management. Youll also contribute to the sites Great Place to Work initiatives and uphold hygiene and GMP standards throughout the Utilities Department.

You will lead contractor management day-to-day and respond to crisis situations through extended cover, call-ins, and remote monitoring. Responsibilities include executing preventive maintenance (PPM) and corrective actions to ensure smooth, compliant, and efficient operation of all utility systems.

Duties

As a Utilities Engineer at Refresco, your responsibilities extend beyond routine maintenance to actively managing the efficiency, safety, and compliance of the entire utility function. Your key duties include:

  • Managing External Contractors: Coordinate and supervise contractors on site, ensuring work is completed to the highest standards, on schedule, and within budget. Conduct contractor inductions, monitor performance, and maintain strong working relationships.

  • Risk Assessments and Legal Compliance: Carry out detailed risk assessments for all utilities operations and maintenance activities. Ensure all work complies with current legislation, health & safety requirements, and environmental regulations. Implement corrective actions where necessary.

  • Plant Inspections and Checks: Conduct routine and ad hoc plant checks, identifying potential failures before they escalate. Record findings, report anomalies, and take corrective action to maintain uninterrupted site operations.

  • Asset Control and Management: Maintain accurate records of all utility assets, including condition monitoring, preventive maintenance schedules, and lifecycle management. Ensure spare parts inventory and asset registers are up to date to support operational efficiency.

  • Energy Efficiency Initiatives: Identify and implement opportunities to reduce energy consumption, minimize waste, and optimize system performance.

  • Crisis Management: Respond to emergencies and unplanned events, providing technical expertise to resolve issues quickly while minimizing impact on production.

  • First Response for Site Utilities: Act as the primary point of contact for all utility-related issues, ensuring rapid response to breakdowns or operational challenges to minimize downtime.

  • Steam and Condensate Systems: Operate, monitor, and maintain boilers, condensate return systems, and related infrastructure for optimum performance.

  • HP/LP Compressed Air Systems: Maintain high- and low-pressure air systems, ensuring reliability and energy efficiency across production processes.

  • Water Treatment and Distribution: Oversee water treatment processes, distribution systems, and associated chemical dosing to meet operational and quality standards.

Role - Collibra Integration Engineer

Duration - 6 months with very likely extension

Location - Hybrid / Canary Wharf - 3 days per week in a Canary Wharf office

Rate - 415 per day (inside IR35)

Tasks

  • Administer and maintain the Collibra platform from an IT engineering perspective, including configuration, health monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance management across EMEA environments.
  • Configure, schedule, and manage integrations using DIP/CDQ, EDGE, and Lineage Harvester, ensuring consistent ingestion of metadata, schemas, and lineage from multiple data sources.
  • Perform connectivity and prerequisite validation with Application teams, ETL teams, and DBAs, including driver installation, credential management, network/firewall requirements and technical onboarding for new data sources.
  • Investigate and resolve incidents related to Collibra integrations, lineage ingestion, and platform availability; collaborate with infrastructure teams to address root causes and prevent reoccurrence.
  • Ensure configuration consistency across environments (DEV/QA/PROD), maintaining runbooks, documentation, and standard operating procedures.
  • Provide regular, clear updates on operational status, risks, and issues to Development Managers and stakeholders.

Additional Tasks

  • Support EMEA-wide Collibra platform stability by monitoring ingestion pipelines, schema drift, job failures, and performance degradation, ensuring reliable metadata and lineage availability
  • Maintain technical documentation, including integration configurations, onboarding guides, troubleshooting logs and operational checklists
  • Assist with access control operations, ensuring proper provisioning, least-privilege consistency, and audit-readiness for regulatory requirements
  • Participate in technical testing for new features, patches, and platform improvements, raising risks or gaps early in collaboration with vendor support and internal IT teams.
