Your New Role
As Director, Global Project Engineering EMEA & APAC, you will guide the Global Project Engineering teams in designing, building, and evolving Warner Bros. Discovery’s production and broadcast facilities across the region. Your Role Accountabilities
• Guide teams responsible for the design, planning, and implementation of new and upgraded production systems, including facility changes, equipment procurement, budget tracking, and project scheduling.
• Partner with leadership across multiple disciplines to support high levels of technology availability and timely project delivery within and beyond technical facilities.
• Present and engage with executive leadership, internal teams, and external partners in a clear and professional manner.
• Oversee requirements gathering, conceptual design, budget oversight, and the deployment of new systems and upgrades.
• Collaborate with other engineering groups to support the design, installation, and commissioning of new systems.
• Develop and maintain procedural and engineering documentation to support system build and ongoing operations.
• Coordinate training for engineering teams in partnership with equipment manufacturers.
• Assess emerging technologies and provide recommendations on equipment and software selection.
• Monitor developments in broadcast and production industries and advise on opportunities to improve efficiency and manage costs.
• Apply deep technical understanding of live production environments and control rooms.
• Prepare project proposals and budget estimates, and oversee approved budgets throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide regular status updates and reporting to management on tasks and projects.
• Contribute to the strategic development of EMEA-based facilities, including the London Media Centre and post-production facilities, while supporting a collaborative team environment.
Qualifications & Experience
• Extensive experience in broadcast engineering within post-production, broadcast, or media industry environments.
• Demonstrable experience overseeing teams in an agile environment with direct and indirect reporting lines.
• Experience with networking, studios, control rooms, cloud infrastructure and design, post-production, remote graphics or editing technologies, and media protocols.
• Strong understanding of broadcast automation systems and detailed audio and video signal flow within broadcast facilities.
• Project management experience, including budget ownership and scheduling.
• Strong IT capability and knowledge of functional broadcast operations.
• Track record of technical excellence and contributing to the development of business opportunities.
• Experience creating, refining, and interpreting technical documentation.
• Willingness to travel as required.
