We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Senior Mechanical Building Services Engineer to support and develop the project delivery capabilities of our busy and successful building services team in Manchester.

You should be able to demonstrate competence in all core mechanical design and engineering principals. In this role you will be responsible for all aspects of design and delivery of mechanical engineering consultancy services for a portfolio of projects. You will be responsible for; undertaking calculations, production of drawings, producing specifications and reports, conducting site surveys, conducting construction stage duties, providing client liaison, consulting with members of design/construction teams and any other relevant duties required to comply with project briefs.

Producing and reviewing mechanical design drawings will be key to your role. Experience of using Autodesk Revit MEP would be beneficial. If required further training in Revit and other systems will be provided.

You will have the passion and drive to deliver and manage projects in accordance with the clients brief and programme, and will help develop good client relationships. You should be capable of managing your own workload, updating forward plans of workload regularly and working to time allocations.

Mechanical Systems Engineer / Architect Job Description:

We have an opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Architect to join the team. This exciting role is to gather and manage the missile mechanical architecture requirements to achieve missile performance, on time and on cost and overall layout vs compliance. This involves providing justification of the design and co-ordinate the verification evidence of missile performance to support certification.

The role is responsible for the delivery of the missile mechanical architecture requirements and typical responsibilities include:

  • Establishing the Missile Airframe Task Requirements Specification (TRS) to ensure a structured & coherent mechanical response to the overall Missile TRS
  • Management of the mechanical interface with the launcher
  • Management of Mechanical & Thermal Interfaces across the Missile
  • Defining the optimum mechanical architecture for all variants of the missile, ensuring the mechanical architecture and interfaces meet requirements
  • Implementation of GMA Policies to ensure Modularity & Reuse objectives are achieved
  • Development of the overall proving logic for the validation of the Airframe
  • Ensuring mechanical compliance to the Airframe TRS for missile certificate of design
  • Interface with and manage customer expectations throughout the development process
  • Producing Statements of Work and plans for activities within their sphere of responsibility
  • Direct technical supervision of engineers within their team and indirect management of engineers in the extended project team
  • Controlling assigned budgets, managing personal workload and identifying any further resource needs

Skillset/experience required:

  • Educated to degree level with 10 years experience or an equivalent qualification having obtained significant experience of mechanical engineering

  • Strong leadership skills, able to establish a clear engineering vision

  • Good knowledge & experience of mechanical design, including: Static & Dynamic Analysis, Design for Environment Thermal Management

We are looking for a Ground Investigation Engineer to join our team Geo-Environmental team in Belfast.

The team provides ground investigation and geo-environmental consultancy services for a broad range of private and public sector clients in the development, health, education, defence and infrastructure sectors. Your main duties and responsibilities will be to assist with the design, procurement, supervision and management of geotechnical and geo-environmental ground investigations.

About the Role

We are looking for Senior Site Investigation Engineer to be based in Leeds and join our national ground investigation team. This is an excellent opportunity for you to join Tetra Techs strong national geo-environmental resource. The national team provides ground investigation, geotechnical and geo-environmental consultancy services for a broad range of private and public sector clients.

Your main duties and responsibilities will be managing of geotechnical and geo-environmental ground investigations, largely in the north of England and with some sites across the UK. The role also includes managing site works including larger value sites across the UK.

Our experienced team members will offer mentoring and we will tailor your training and development accordingly to achieve your own personal goals, providing the specific support you need to reach your potential.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • You will hold a degree in geology or similar.
  • Experience of ground investigation, including logging of soil and rock to BS5930, supervision of site works, groundwater and ground gas monitoring.
  • Experience of undertaking site works of varying size across a large range of environments.
  • You will have project management (PM) skills and experience to deliver a ground investigation project through the entire project life cycle (proposal, contract, implementation and close out). You will take responsibility for deliverables, financial performance and client relationship management.
  • Yor time will be split circa 50:50 between office and site, mostly within the north of England and often within 1 to 2 hours of the Leeds office. On occasion sites will be further afield and may require overnights stays, with all expenses covered by Tetra Tech. As your PM skills develop the amount of site works will reduce to those projects requiring your experienced input.
  • You will be expected to attend an office 1-2 days per work or as demanded by your team, clients and projects. We adopt a fully flexible approach to the way we work that best serves our clients, colleagues and work/life balance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and be IT literate such that you can write clear, concise factual reports.

Key Responsibilities - Line manage engineers across the Modern Workplace, Data, and System Specialist teams - Take ownership of, run and continuously improve team ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives - Build and maintain competency frameworks and training plans for each discipline - Work closely with Head of Architecture and Engineering and lead engineers to ensure technical delivery aligns with Aurora’s strategic priorities - Develop and optimise delivery processes to ensure consistency, scalability, and continuous improvement, within engineering teams and in collaboration with the wider Internal Technology department - Serve as a trusted point of escalation for people and performance matters - Partner with the Head of Architecture and Engineering to ensure that the engineering functions operate efficiently, maintaining a strong culture of collaboration and growth alongside the wider Internal Technology department - Support engineers with professional development, including coaching, mentorship, and goal setting - Support engineers in the delivery of technical solutions, drawing on past hands-on experience as an engineer or architect.
