TECH-AGNOSTIC ROLE

Quality Engineer - Automotive Manufacturing
Midlands
Up to c.£55,000 + excellent benefits

Most quality engineer roles are buried under a manager, chasing paperwork and waiting for sign-off. This one puts you front and centre.

You will take ownership of site Quality, supported by two Quality Technicians, and act as the key link between two manufacturing sites. You’ll run the lab, coordinate production technologies, drive audits (internal and external), own problem-solving, and be the direct point of contact for plant management and the internal customer onsite. It’s autonomous, visible, and high-stakes - your decisions keep quality on track, close issues fast, and protect the plant’s KPIs.

If you want a role where you’re trusted to lead without someone looking over your shoulder, this is it.

What you’ll do:

  • Run the quality lab and coordinate all production quality activities
  • Lead internal and external audits, maintaining professionalism at every level
  • Drive problem-solving using robust 8D methodology - from quick fixes to eradicating systemic issues
  • Support new product launches, engineering changes, and ensure control plan adherence
  • Consolidate and report plant quality figures (weekly/month-end)
  • Push continuous improvement, manage people in the quality team, and hit driving KPIs

You’ll thrive here if you:

  • Hold a relevant engineering qualification (Degree/HNC/HND/ONC minimum)
  • Have solid understanding of IATF 16949 (or TS) standards and quality tools (FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC, etc.)
  • Bring real people management experience - developing, motivating and leading teams
  • Are strong with problem-solving (8D mastery), project management (timing, budget, quality)
  • Communicate confidently and professionally with everyone - operators, management, internal/external customers
  • Know your MS Office suite inside out (Excel, Word, PowerPoint especially)
  • Preferably, have examples of leading teams and closing complex quality issues

Ideally, we want someone who sees this as a stepping stone to the next level (and beyond) within the business. That said, be ready to own and excel in this role for a period first; progression comes from delivering results, not rushing.

About the Organisation:

A large, high volume automotive manufacturing operation that forms part of a global tier one group. The site operates in a fast paced, quality critical environment where equipment uptime, supplier performance and cost control directly impact production and customer delivery.

This role offers the chance to work within a globally connected manufacturing business while having real ownership and visibility at site level. You will gain exposure to best practice processes, complex operations and a role that genuinely impacts performance.

The package:

  • Up to c.£55,000 depending on your experience and track record
  • Significant employer pension contribution
  • Electric car scheme via salary sacrifice
  • Cycle-to-work scheme
  • Heavily discounted gym membership
  • Holiday buy/sell option
  • Flexible start/finish times
  • 1 day a week work-from-home
  • Genuine career progression - promotion from within

If you’re the kind of quality professional who relishes autonomy, loves closing issues for good, and wants to be the go-to person in a high-visibility role with real development potential - please reach out.

Solutions Architect - DV Clearance Required
JLA Resourcing Ltd
Aldershot
In office
Senior - Leader
£100,000
RECENTLY POSTED
TECH-AGNOSTIC ROLE

Job Title: Senior / Lead Solution Architect – National Security & Defence
Location: Farnborough (4–5 days per week onsite)
Salary: Up to £105,000 (some flexibility for the right person)
Clearance: UK DV required (sole UK national)

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Senior / Lead level Solution Architect to join a National Security & Defence programme that’s already live and evolving. This is not a “greenfield transformation” role, it’s about immersing yourself in a complex environment, understanding how it really works, and then making it better through ongoing, incremental change.

The programme has momentum, long-term ambition, and senior backing. What it needs now is a trusted technical authority who can lead customers, shape solutions, and help the organisation move forward pragmatically rather than redesigning everything from scratch.

The Role

This role sits at a larger scale than a single-system or enterprise architecture position. You’ll operate across multiple projects and workstreams, balancing delivery today with shaping what comes next.

You’ll work closely with engineering and service delivery teams end to end. From early solution shaping, through design and implementation, and into live service. There’s also a strong growth element: helping identify opportunities, guiding strategy, and applying wider domain knowledge to customer challenges.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a trusted technical authority across multiple programmes and customers.
  • Leading solution design that responds directly to customer needs and operational realities.
  • Immersing yourself in existing environments and driving continuous improvement.
  • Supporting incremental change rather than wholesale transformation.
  • Working across engineering, delivery and service to ensure solutions are operable long-term.
  • Shaping new opportunities, contributing to bids and growth activity.
  • Bringing broader domain awareness — understanding what’s emerging and what’s viable.
  • Helping guide longer-term ambitions around zero trust, cloud adoption, and evolving security posture.

The Person

This role suits someone who has grown beyond being a pure Enterprise Architect. You’ll need strong engineering roots, but also the credibility to lead conversations with customers and influence direction across programmes.

You may come from a consulting or prime contractor background, and you’ll likely have spent time shaping opportunities as well as delivering them.

Curiosity matters, particularly around where technology is heading, including areas like agentic AI and modern cyber capabilities.

Essential experience includes:

  • Proven experience operating as a Solution Architect at scale across multiple programmes.
  • Strong technical breadth across cloud, infrastructure, applications, data, security and service delivery.
  • Experience working in defence or national security environments.
  • Ability to lead customers, not just respond to requirements.
  • Comfortable balancing delivery, improvement and growth activities.
  • Engineering credibility combined with strong stakeholder engagement skills.

Nice to have / future exposure:

  • Zero Trust architecture patterns.
  • Cloud modernisation in constrained environments.
  • Exposure to emerging AI capabilities and modern cyber approaches.

Security & Location

  • Active UK DV clearance required (agency-held DV considered).
  • Sole UK national (not required to be UK-born).
  • Farnborough-based role, 4–5 days per week onsite due to programme nature.

Summary of what’s on Offer

  • A senior architecture role with real influence, not a paper exercise.
  • A programme focused on steady improvement with long-term ambition.
  • The chance to lead customers and shape direction across delivery and growth.
  • Competitive salary with flexibility for the right profile.
  • Exposure to evolving areas like zero trust, cloud and agentic AI over time.
