Your responsibilities as a Senior Project Manager:

The role is for a Degree qualified Mechanical Project engineer to delivery part of the mechanic program for the Leisure Capital program and also to support the separately funded capital improvement program.

The Mechanical Project Engineer post holder will hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building services and be responsible working as part of a Mechanical engineering team for allocated work load including organising manage and oversee the delivery of a high quality, cost effective mechanical engineering service in accordance with the needs of various client groups requiring a broad based knowledge of all aspects of Mechanical works from Gas Fired boiler systems, Large Ventilation plant, Air Source Heat Pumps, Legionella control, lifts through to refrigeration and Air conditioning.

The role is to organise and manage the Mechanical works allocated to ensure delivery of these aspects of the teams overall objectives. To provide an exemplary professional service to ensure that corporate and Leisure properties are effectively and efficiently maintained, repaired, adapted, improved or replaced, in accordance with client requirements, good practice, legislative and statutory requirements and to achieve agreed performance targets.

Knowledge:

  • Sound knowledge of all aspects of Mechanical engineering for the full range of building types, including heating, cooling systems, commercial Gas installations, ventilation Lifts, mechanical shutters and Legionella control, site supervision, Controls.
  • IT literate and competent in use of MS Word and Excel; Hevacomp, Design Builder or similar and have at least a basic understanding of AutoCAD
  • Sound knowledge of Building Regulations and Statutory requirements as they apply to mechanical engineering and Health & Safety. Understanding of Fire compartmentation and regulation. Mechanical Fire systems
  • Sound knowledge and experience of Procurement and Contract Administration processes and Contract Supervision and Administration duties.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of alternative heating systems including air source and ground source heat pumps

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree orDegree in building services engineering
  • Minimum 10 years experience of mechanical engineering in a construction or building services environment including surveying, inspection and reporting; maintenance and servicing contracts; design and specifying and procuring upgrading, replacement and provision of new mechanical installations.
  • Minimum of 5 Years managing Mechanical engineers delivering a broad range of works in commercial type buildings from Commercial Gas Boiler installations through to large ventilation system and Refrigeration maintenance and installations.
  • Extensive experience of working in a Public sector or large organisation inthe client role as Mechanical Engineer
  • Experience of using schedule of rates
  • Membership of a professional engineering / building services bodysuch as CIBSE
