The Role

Role Description:

Applicants should have recent experience of teaching and mentoring and have the ability to work as part of a team to develop, share innovative and stimulating blended teaching and learning resources. Applicants must be passionate about teaching apprenticeship standards in the employer provider sector, and be committed to ensuring that our Apprentices make the best possible progress developing their skills, knowledge and behaviors. As such, applicants must have the ability to work under pressure and adapt to change. A teaching qualification is mandatory as is experience of developing blended learning resources and delivery on a VLE platform. It is highly desirable that the candidate has experience delivering on Aero and Aviation programmes up to Level 3 and/or Advanced Manufacturing Engineering programmes.

Core Duties:

  • To teach on advanced manufacturing programmes, in line with Apprenticeship standards and BAE Systems learning delivery models capitalising on ideas and innovation to enhance teaching and learning practice
  • Contribute to the planning, monitoring and evaluation of the curriculum always promoting a positive, meaningful learning culture
  • To contribute to the safeguarding of our Apprentices and wider team
  • Fully participate in the development of an inclusive blended learning approach using CANVAS as a platform enriching the curriculum delivery
  • To maintain current and appropriate resources for all course units taught including Schemes of Work, Lesson Plans, and suitable teaching materials ensuring individualised learning opportunities are in place

Essential Skills:

  • At least a HNC degree to teach level 3
  • Experience working in a college environment
  • Electrical based unit delivery experience
  • Pearson education units is what BAE Systems deliver, practical experiments in a workshop experience would be good
  • Experience delivering on Aero and Aviation programmes up to Level 3 and/or Advanced Manufacturing Engineering programmes

You will be a responsible, confident and outstanding Mechanical, Electrical or Aero and Aviation Engineering Lecturer who has the skills to inspire Apprentices, colleagues and stakeholder. You will have an imaginative approach to teaching that generates wonderfully creative lessons to fully engage and inspire our Apprentices to achieve to the world class standards BAE Systems expects.
