Overview Our client is seeking a Senior Data Architect to join their growing consultancy team. Responsibilities • Define and implement data architectures aligned with organisational and enterprise-wide strategies. • Develop and maintain architecture artefacts, including entity relationship models, data dictionaries, ETL/ELT definitions, and data lineage models. • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, taking ownership of architectural decisions and solution design rationale. • Establish governance frameworks to maintain integrity and consistency of data architecture. • Embed data security principles and best practices into all data solutions. • Define standards for data modelling across enterprise environments. • Evaluate APIs, analyse data sources, and assess data quality, integrity, and timeliness. • Reverse-engineer data models from existing systems where required. • Create Agile user stories and support engineering teams throughout delivery. • Support third-party suppliers to ensure system compatibility and integration. • Contribute to integration and reconciliation testing processes. • Develop data visualisations and insights using industry-standard reporting tools. Requirements • Proven experience designing and delivering data architectures for diverse stakeholders. • Strong knowledge of data warehousing and data lake architectures, with experience on platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks. • Experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform). • Strong understanding of data security principles, including role-based access control. • Advanced data modelling skills across data warehouses and datamarts. • Experience migrating data from legacy systems to cloud-based architectures. • Knowledge of OLTP and OLAP systems and their implementation. • Experience developing and managing entity relationship models, data dictionaries, and ETL/ELT processes. • Strong SQL proficiency; familiarity with SQL Server tools (SSMS, SSIS, SSRS) is advantageous. • Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau. • Ability to work with APIs using tools such as Postman.
