The successful candidate will be self-motivated and possess a couple of years experience in design. Be competent in auto CAD/CIV3D and have a working knowledge in Revit. Have experience in rebar design and detailing with an eye for detail, able to check and validate drawings/models to and from the client while acting as a support function between site and Document Control.

Due to the site being a high-security military naval base, additional security checks will be required a BPSS level of security clearance is necessary. These checks can take up to 8 weeks to process. Only candidates holding EU, NATO, 5 Eyes, or MISWG member passports and who have been UK residents for the last 5 years can be considered for this role.

Making Possible

In this role, you will be working in a live MOD facility. Your day-to-day will include:

  • Act as a subject matter expert for the production of drawings and provide technical support to personnel as and when required.
  • Ensure that all drawing work is carried out in compliance with ISO 19650, BAM and CAD standards.
  • Provide Drawing production training, both to the team members and to the supply chain.
  • Provide support to the Document Control team to review Drawings before submitting to the client.
  • Understand the hardware and software requirements on the project and communicate with the BIM Lead and Project information Manager.

  • Supporting a wide range of heavy equipment and machinery including conveyors, mixing and robotics machinery.
  • Working through a planned preventative maintenance program as well as project and continuous improvement work.
  • Providing reactive maintenance, attending to and resolving breakdowns swiftly and getting production lines back up and running again.
  • Dealing with VSD Drives and PLCs.

Requirements

  • The Engineer will need to have completed a recognised Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship or hold Electrical Engineering qualifications at Level 3 or above.
  • Are experienced in performing reactive & PPM Electrical maintenance work within an industrial and/or heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Will have experience of PLC Fault Finding, PLC programming skills are useful, additionally experience with VSD Drives is beneficial.

The role:

As an EC&I Engineer, you will help drive our goals by:

  • Ensures programmes are in place to manage compliance inspections across EC&I equipment on site (ATEX, Functional
    Safety, Gas Detection, Fire Alarms, Environmental Analysers, Fire Suppression, Test Equipment calibration etc).
  • Provide second level technical support to the Maintenance shift teams to assist root cause analysis of complex plant EC&I breakdowns.
  • Ownership of EC&I maintenance plans ensuring industry best practice is embedded across the plant.
  • Ensure instrument loop calibrations are completed to satisfy ISO9001 and 14001 requirements.
  • Working with the Senior Electrical Engineer, ensure contingency plans are in place to support site controls systems and instrumentation as well as the power distribution to meet the business/operational needs.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) of complex breakdowns of plant issues.

Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience managing maintenance of industrial EC&I equipment within a similar industry (chemical,
    pharma, food etc)
  • Good understanding of maintenance techniques and their application
  • Knowledge of applicable international standards (e.g., IEC 60079, IEC 61511)
  • Experience working in a regulated environment (e.g., COMAH, Chemical, Oil & Gas etc.) is not essential but highly desirable
