I’m currently recruiting on behalf of an exciting systems integrator who work across all sorts of industrial automation projects - including (but not limited to) battery energy storage systems, water, and baggage handling. This role is based in the office, which is located between Nottingham and Derby.

There are multiple positions available for engineers who have experience with the full project lifecycle of control systems, taking them from URS/FDS, through to PLC programming, HMI development, and then overseeing commissioning and installation activities at the end (and everything inbetween).

What you’ll be doing

• Building and delivering PLC and SCADA solutions from concept through to site handover
• Taking ownership across the full project lifecycle, including design, FAT/SAT and commissioning
• Developing and supporting industrial communications (PROFIBUS, PROFINET)
• Creating technical documentation and assisting with customer training
• Mostly office-based engineering, with occasional site work for commissioning

We are currently recruiting for a Project Engineer to join us at our Muller Milk & Ingredients business, to be based from either Severnside GL10 2DG or Droitwich WR9 0LW. A full UK drivers licence is required, due to travel and project delivery across our sites, as required.

The purpose of a project Engineer within Muller is to deliver best in class engineering projects to support the goals of the business vision in alignment with the OGSM strategic plan. You will be delivering engineering projects on time, in budget to a high quality standard.

As Project Engineer, the key responsibilities will include:

• Play an active part in continuously improving our systems and business and support improvement activities/events within all areas
• Have awareness of Total Cost of Ownership to deliver the appropriate fit for purpose solution
• Ensure project budgets are closely controlled ensuring forecast spend is apparent at all times from concept to closure
• Coaching and mentoring of site leadership teams with overall end to end management of minor capital projects
• Management and adherence to the Muller project management process and investment process for technical investment within the Muller Group (major capitals and minor in non-manufacturing environments)
• Ensure all project completion and handover documentation are submitted to the relevant site teams
• Support the wider project team to deliver the OGSM of the business

Key skills & experience:

• Degree level qualification in relevant STEM subject (Engineering/Physics/Maths/Science) or equivalent industry experience
• Project Management experience/qualification; within FMCG Environment desirable
• Use of Project Management systems (e.g. MS Project)

Solution Architect - National Security and Defence (NS&D)

Location: Farnborough office for the majority time with occasional travel to customer locations and working from home.

The Role:

Leidos have an opportunity for an experience Solution Architect to provide solution and technical leadership for programmes, including bids, growth opportunities and project delivery, designing differentiating and innovative solutions and services that address customer’s business problems.

• Highly skilled at solutioning and designing complex mission critical systems and services which meet customer needs whilst remaining implementable within schedule and budget.
• Excellent communications skills to engage with executive leadership (internally and client) articulating solution and technical capability aligned to the business challenges.
• Excellent written and presentation communication skills.
• Experience conducting technical solution reviews for large programmes and bids to ensure their success.

Solution Architect (Maritime Autonomy)

Location: Farnborough, with flexibility to work from home dependent on business demands

The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and security-cleared Solution Architect to lead the architecting and design of modern autonomous and digital C4ISR systems and solutions for maritime defence capabilities and platforms.

The role will support multiple maritime and related defence opportunities with the candidate will have extensive experience working in the defence industry, with specific expertise in maritime systems and architectures, autonomy, mission systems, and C4ISR integration as well as good understanding of maritime platform design.

This role will include developing relevant capability roadmaps across the Leidos Maritime area, scoping technology innovation, capability integration, undertaking customer engagement to position Leidos as a leader in Maritime Defence using cutting edge technology and leading the solution on bids and opportunities.

The Solution Architect will work closely with programme-specific architects and engineers, programme delivery, business development, wider divisional technical leadership and customer teams to ensure technical solutions align with customer requirements and operational needs.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and design of military maritime solutions, including combat systems, Strike Net, communications, autonomous navigation, and integrated platform management systems, across multiple opportunities
• Translate complex operational and capability requirements into end-to-end system designs.
• Engage with military stakeholders, engineering teams, partners and subcontractors to define and validate system architectures and technical roadmaps.
• Review solutions to ensure compliance with military standards, safety, and security requirements (e.g., DEF STAN, STANAG, MIL-STD).
• Support bid and proposal efforts by contributing to the shaping, solution development and associated governance of the solution architecture and supporting technical proposal and costing reviews.
• Conduct trade studies and design reviews to assess system performance, scalability, and interoperability.
• Provide governance and oversight across engineering delivery to ensure architectural alignment and integration across maritime opportunities
• Stay abreast of emerging and cutting edge technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and system improvement including but not limited to uncrewed systems, advanced comms and AI.

What does Leidos need from me?

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Maritime / Royal Navy / Military service experience
• Extensive experience in solution or systems architecture within the defence and/or maritime domain.
• Strong understanding of naval platforms (surface ships, submarines, UAVs/USVs, Strike Net, Tactical C4ISR) and their mission requirements.
• Experience in technical governance/sign off and technical design authority roles
• Understanding of maritime autonomy, technology, policies and strategy, able to use this to influence Leidos technical strategy and direction
• Experience with C4ISR systems, weapon systems integration, or naval command systems.
• Knowledge of combat management systems and the latest developments in the cross platform and multi service data sharing systems.
• Familiarity with systems engineering lifecycle (ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288), MBSE, and digital twin concepts.
• Hands-on experience with architecture frameworks (e.g., MODAF, NAF, TOGAF) and tools (e.g., Sparx EA, Cameo).
• Knowledge of cybersecurity, safety, and information assurance in defence systems.
• Strong stakeholder management and technical leadership skills.
• Highly skilled at solutioning and designing complex mission critical systems and services which meet customer needs whilst remaining implementable within schedule and budget.

We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Senior Mechanical Building Services Engineer to support and develop the project delivery capabilities of our busy and successful building services team in Manchester.

You should be able to demonstrate competence in all core mechanical design and engineering principals. You should be able to successfully lead and deliver multiple low complexity projects without supervision or packages of more complex projects, under the direction of more experienced staff. You will be expected to interface with clients and provide guidance and advice to less experienced staff.

In this role you will be responsible for all aspects of design and delivery of mechanical engineering consultancy services for a portfolio of projects. Reporting directly to the COO, you will manage a multi-disciplinary team of 6-8 engineers and oversee the successful delivery of engineering projects, product development, and technical support. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines strategic direction with operational oversight, ensuring high-quality outputs and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage multi-disciplinary engineering teams across mechanical, electrical, electronics, and software disciplines. Oversee product design, development, and NPI/NPD processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards. Manage project delivery, resource planning, budgeting, and technical oversight for multiple concurrent projects. Develop, implement, and maintain structured processes aligned to ISO9001 standards. Act as the technical authority for solutions, providing subject matter expertise and design approvals. Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Finance, IT, and HR to support business objectives. Prepare and review technical proposals, business cases, and product lifecycle planning. Mentor and develop team members, fostering a positive, high-performing culture. Requirements: Proven experience (5+ years) in senior engineering management with people leadership responsibility. Strong track record in managing multi-disciplinary technical teams and budgets. Experience in customer-facing, consultative technical roles within industrial or B2B markets. Knowledge of product compliance, certification standards, and design for harsh environments. Competent in project and process management, including ISO9001-based systems. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, or related engineering discipline. Ability to travel partially for customer and supplier visits. Full UK driving license and eligibility to work in the UK. Desirable: Experience in Defence, Medical, Transport, Automation, Energy, or Communications sectors. Professional engineering membership (e.g., IET, IMechE) and Lean/Six Sigma qualifications. Proven experience in innovation, NPD, and commercial product strategy.
