My customer is on the lookout for an IT Support Engineer to help support their IT Support team. The Engineer must have basic Networking and strong Microsoft Office Suite experience.
The IT Support Engineer would help with any 1st and some 2nd line issues and be the intermediary between the business and the outsourced IT team.
The IT Support Engineer is required on site in Andover.
Key Responsibilities of the IT Support Engineer
Provide first-line support to office users for issues related to:
Password resets.
Active Directory (AD) and Azure authentication.
Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint).
Install and configure approved software applications.
Manage and assign administrative access rights as per company policies.
Escalate complex technical issues to the outsourced IT team when necessary.
Serve as the intermediary between factory users and the outsourced IT team.
Support basic TCP/IP networking and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
Assist with firewall configurations and monitoring.

As a Field Engineer, you will be responsible for assisting in Field Team Leader in overall operation & support for our customers. This will be including support our customers with requests and incidents remotely and on site. Job Role Responsibilities
Provide 1st - 3rd line technical support for all customers
Ensure customer incidents are resolved as quickly as possible (on and off-site)

Work closely with 1st and 2nd line technical support and other field engineers to ensure a high level of communications is maintained
Provide technical guidance to the helpdesk team and field engineers
Create and maintain strong relationships with other business units

Provide occasional support of managed services operations, including involvement of weekend tasks
Provide assistance to service team for technical design, implementation and support of customer incidents and projects

Create and maintain suitable customer infrastructure / service documentation
Assist with the planning of internal and customer project work
Accountable for the change control process and the upkeep of digital records
Ensure that each service incident or installation is tested as per the client’s sign off process and that this information is stored correctly
Assist in the training and development of service helpdesk staff and field engineers
Work under own initiatives as part of the service team to ensure high quality support to clients
Undertake tasks identified by service helpdesk, service team leader or technical manager
Undertake any other duties as required, which are deemed necessary to satisfy the needs of Bechtle
Ensure incident information is recorded accurately and in a timely manner

Undertaking security risk assessments, risk mitigation plans, mitigation gap analysis and preparation of security management documentation for system Accreditation.
Defining product security requirements, advising development teams on suitable implementation standards and techniques and overseeing product development activities.
Liaison with Security Accreditors and Security Assurance Coordinators in support of security accreditation.
Preparation of Protection Profiles, Security Targets and Evaluation Management Plans, and liaison with NCSC and commercial evaluation teams in support of evaluation activities.
Preparation of TEMPEST Control Plans, advising development teams on appropriate implementation techniques, and liaising with TEMPEST test facilities.
Advising development teams on suitable platform lockdown and configurations, and supporting Penetration test activities. Analysing penetration test results and preparation of remedial action plans.
Prepare and implement through life support and maintenance for product security including vulnerability and patch management plans
Lead security incident management teams during incident/crisis situations in conjunction with Head of Product Security for EW/FCA
Review and maintain corporate product security policies.
Deliver product security training to project engineering teams.
Experience required:
Experience in the development of security solutions for a military &/or commercial products and systems.
Graduate degree in relevant engineering, computing or related scientific discipline, and/or evidence of further professional study.
Registered NCSC certified professional at senior level or above, or NCSC recognised qualification, e.g. ISC2Certified Information System Security Professional.
Knowledge of UK/NATO Information Assurance standards, procedures & systems, including Government Functional Standard GovS 007: Security, HMG IS1&2, ISO27000 series standards, NIST SP800 series standards, JSP440, JSP604, guidance material provided by NCSC, CPNI and NIST.
Practical experience of producing Security Accreditation documentation
Practical experience of NCSC and Common Criteria security evaluation techniques.
Knowledge of current crypto technologies and key management systems
Model Base System Engineering (MBSE) knowledge
Understanding operating systems, firmware and software security controls and how to apply them.
Understanding of existing, current and emerging technologies including cloud, virtualisation and web
Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
