Summary

The purpose of the role is to support the operations teams in delivering a safe, compliant HV installations, meeting the clients specification and functional needs whilst ensuring that safety and quality procedures are fully implemented during the design, planning, installation and commissioning phases.

Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:

  • Demonstrate appropriate health & safety leadership to ensure the safety first and foremost message is visible and alive throughout all activities.
  • Lead the HV commissioning management on projects to achieve company, team and individual objectives relating to the implementation of best value design, management of opportunities, risk mitigation, and technically excellent installations.
  • Provide commissioning advice and assistance to other areas of the business and support business development, actively promoting our HV commissioning and operational capability.
  • Assist the commissioning manager HV in the production of project commissioning fees. Prepare site visit reports for senior stakeholder, highlighting progress, risks, opportunities and resource issues.
  • In conjunction with the project team, ensure that commissioning documentation is produced in line with the NG Bailey standard procedures. Manage the commissioning activities in line with documentation, highlighting any issues, risks, opportunities as necessary to ensure the commissioning procedure is successfully completed.
  • Assist the project manager to define the work scope of external commissioning. Coordinate as required the commissioning activities in line with agreed scope.
  • Build and maintain mutually beneficial customer, key supplier and internal relationships. Promote the HV team and actively seek out new opportunities.
  • Maintain knowledge of new and existing equipment and seek opportunities to gain specific knowledge of HV commissioning best practice.
  • Apply current legislation regarding standard, CDM, quality control, commissioning, safety & environmental issues relating to all activities.

  • Significant experience working on high voltage installations at authorised person level
  • Significant experience of managing quality control procedures including off site witness testing
  • Fully qualified installation electrician or equivalent practical qual
  • HV AP 1 course or approved equivalent

We are recruiting 25 Electrical Meter Engineers nationwide, to support Siemens phase out their outdated and costly 2G networks and pave the way for enhanced 4G and 5G services.

This project demands a dynamic response team; the work is a mixture of 3 phase and LV / HVCT so we are hiring a range of engineers with different skill levels to join the team. An unquestionable attitude to safety, excellent customer service skills, and ‘can do’ attitude is a pre-requisite for this role.

What are the key responsibilities?

  • Carry out complete installations and replacements of single phase and 3 phase WC AMR meters for varying contracts in varying locations
  • Installation and Maintenance of LV COP3, COP 5 and COP 10 Smart Metering Systems for Commercial and Industrial Customers
  • Installation, programming and commissioning of LVCT metering
  • Installation of meter wiring looms on LVCT from Terminal Test Blocks

The Opportunity

As an AV Installation Engineer, you will be responsible for the hands-on installation, termination, testing of commercial AV and videoconferencing systems. You will work predominantly on client sites across Europe, often for extended periods, and will be expected to deliver installations to a consistently high standard with minimal supervision. This role requires significant and regular travel within the EU - you should be comfortable spending the majority of your working time away from home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate and test AV systems including displays, speakers, microphones, DSPs, video bars, control processors and network switches in commercial environments.
  • First-fix and second-fix cabling - CAT6/6a, fibre, HDMI, USB, Dante/AES67 audio networks.

Your Skills and Experience:

As a Waste Water Adoptions Engineer, you will be responsible for liaising with developers and groundworkers to ensure that they install the adoptable waste water infrastructure to the required standards.

You will spend significant time out in the field, visiting developers to inspect and survey the sewers as they are laid. You will be responsible for ensuring that the pipes are laid according to the approved plans, identifying any defects, and ensuring they are rectified.

You will also be responsible for producing inspection reports and identifying any remedial works required relating to the adoption of the new drainage assets from the developer by Advanced Water Infrastructure Networks (AWIN).

In this role you will…

  • Provide support to the Head of Waste Water on all regional waste water adoption enquiries.
  • Assist in budget planning and forecasting for all waste water adoption activities
  • Ensuring activities and assets are compliant with all relevant legislation.
  • Leading on new assets handover, ensuring all relevant records, agreements and contracts are in place.
  • Attend the pre-start meeting with the developer and contractor prior to the commencement of drainage installation to ensure alignment with the requirements.
  • To ensure that site inspections and contractor checks are carried out in accordance with the Water Act, the latest edition of the DCG and AWIN requirements.
  • Carry out pre-maintenance inspections, provide snagging lists and carry out final inspections prior to final adoption.
  • To attend air / water tests on new sewer installations ensuring that they all pass.
  • Provide technical leadership and assurance for the testing, commissioning, and performance validation of wastewater assets, including sewers, pumping stations, rising mains and SuDS features.
  • Assist with the integration of new adopted Waste-Water assets into company GIS system.
  • To advise on engineering solutions with the developers when any complicated installations arise.
  • Liaise closely with ground workers and site agents.
  • To risk assess all situations on site so as not to compromise Health & Safety.
  • Assess new and innovative materials / ideas and implement and offer as a solution on site providing it does not compromise our position.
  • Develop policies and processes for adoption and ongoing maintenance of sites.
  • To help the Water Team on other water related activities as and when required.

You will need…

  • Experience of working in the water industry (in particular waste water) with a good understanding of the S104 Adoption process.

Operations Engineer’s

Your Role Accountabilities… Monitoring all of WB Discovery’s channels Manage the necessary switching of transmission systems during normal or emergency conditions to ensure that all services remain on the air. Respond to all affiliate enquiries and maintain on-going communication with customers, keeping them up-to-date with the progress of their tickets Serve as a liaison between other support teams and the customer as required by working collaboratively across all leadership levels Outage vetting – initiating of critical outage situations Manage incident and planned work tickets: uphold professional ticket management from the get-go for the benefit of the rest of the global support teams by ensuring all ticket types are logged, work logs comprehensively updated and then carefully manage routing to ensure resolution Liaise with third party fibre, uplink and playout providers during fault investigations. Qualifications & Experience… Experience in a broadcast, media, or telecommunications environment. In-depth knowledge of television distribution systems, platforms, and standards. Working knowledge of digital baseband signals, SDI, HD-SDI and ASI for video and PCM, Dolby D and E and its variants for audio signals as well as awareness of TCP/IP Network concepts including multicast traffic Knowledge of and experience with SMPTE 2110 Working experience with Television Distribution Systems – fibre and satellite based encoding, as well as Telemetry Monitoring and Control Systems Is able to operate associated test and analysis equipment including but not limited to video waveform monitor, vector scope and transport stream analyzer Specific experience and expertise in troubleshooting and correcting signal quality issues, signal routing, systems integration and maintenance Candidate should have working knowledge of MPEG-2/4 encoding technology, encryption/ authorization technology and TVRO receive systems. Role profile:

The London Stock Exchange Group’s Data and Analytics division provides high quality financial data to hundreds of thousands of customers around the world. The Real Time platform provides our customers with financial market data that is sourced from over 550 real time venues across the world. The platform’s engineering function has responsibility for the development and growth of the technology solution that supports the platform, noting specific engineering challenges pertaining to its complexity, geographic distribution, and scale.

The architecture team that supports this platform has responsibility for the high-level design, technology strategy and governance of this platform, and assures its reliability, scalability, extensibility, and sustainability.

The responsibilities of a Real-Time architect within the team are summarised below.

ROLE SUMMARY:

  • Define and deliver our technology strategy to meet our customers’ requirements.
  • High level design and definition of a global technology platform that must hit well defined SLA’s and targets to assure resiliency and low latency delivery of real time market data
  • collaborate with business and product teams to translate high-level requirements into an executable design.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with internal customers, management and peers across the globe.
  • Develop a broad knowledge of LSEG business strategies and our product portfolio.
  • Innovate on new and improved uses of technology to meet business objectives.

  • Responsible for the key areas in the global design standards, governance, buildout & automation for Real-Time replatform and Real-Time Managed Distribution Services (RTMDS) public Cloud deployment by delivering Full Tick to these public/private cloud environments, systems integration, corporate and custom monitoring, asset and automation systems, etc
  • Work closely with key partners in the Real Time Architecture team
  • Support for feature rollout for Testing as a Service public Cloud deployments
  • Provide project implementation support during business and occasionally off business hours
  • Create and update design and associated technical reference documentation
  • Provide recommendations to the manager of the Architecture team to define / refine practices to meet team’s objectives
  • Train/Coach/mentor others in the Architecture team or partners

  • Experience of designing large scale compute infrastructure-based applications

Job Purpose

The Systems Operations Analyst will provide immediate assistance (by phone) to traders, back office, support personnel and IT staff in an effort to achieve the highest customer satisfaction and minimize the impact of IT related problems. The Systems Operations Analyst must be a motivated team player that can see projects to completion, work independently, and be willing to assist other staff in areas not specific to their duties.

The Systems Operations Analyst is not a typical NOC/helpdesk role-it is part of a highly specialized support organization that is responsible for the daily operations of multiple industry leading trading exchanges and clearing systems. This is a customer-facing position that requires identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving both internal system problems, as well as external customer-related IT issues. The role requires a blend of general technical and business knowledge, as well as a comprehensive understanding of the overall architecture of the ICE exchanges, divisions, clearing, and infrastructure. This position is not a Systems Administrator or Network Engineering position; however, prior experience in these areas is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting day-to-day customer issues and provide direct support to clients by phone, email, and CRM tools
  • Work with the client to communicate important information about system maintenance, changes, events, and to address client concerns regarding any aspect of the services
  • Interaction with third-party vendors is required
  • Maintenance operations and administration of proprietary systems is an integral part of the position’s responsibilities
