Responsibilities of the Field Service Engineer

Tetra Tech is seeking an experienced Highways Engineer / Transport Planner at either Senior or Principal Consultant grade to be a team leader, technical specialist and key member of the DMI Team. This is a pivotal, challenging and exciting role, which requires the person to manage a team of staff and provide technical work outputs to internal and external stakeholders and delivery partners.

The successful candidate will have the ability if desired to follow a hybrid office / working from home approach in the role.

Requirements:

For this key role we require candidates to have:

  • Significant highway design experience, ideally working on behalf of a local authority although working for a private sector developer would also be beneficial.
  • Experience in providing professional and technical advice with highways Section 278 and Section 38 Agreement works, involving either preparation or review of developers proposals for highway works and checking specifications for works on adopted highways or roads offered for adoption.
  • Proven project management capabilities and desirable (although not essential) to have staff management experience.
  • Prepared work programmes, costings and budget management/monitoring for highway schemes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine maintenance, repairs, and servicing of air conditioning systems.
  • VRV’s, Upflow, Downflow, AHU’s, FCU’s - Service and Maintenance
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC issues to identify and implement effective solutions.
  • Perform F Gas checks and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Install split, multi-split, VRV/VRF, and air handling unit (AHU) systems
  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including service reports and maintenance logs.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and build strong client relationships.
  • Work independently and efficiently as a mobile AC engineer.

Requirements:

  • F Gas qualification is essential.
  • Proven prior experience as a mobile AC engineer
  • Installation experience
  • Knowledge of various AC systems and their components
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.

The ideal candidate will have previous knowledge of PLC’s, SCADA , HMI, variable speed drives and instrumentation products and experience in producing project documentation.

Full-time position: 08:30-17:15 Monday to Thursday and 08:30-16:00 on Fridays. Role includes UK site commissioning (which may involve short periods away from home).

What we require from you:

  • Previous control system experience ( 2 years+ )
  • Software Engineering Degree and/or Electrical qualifications
  • Experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens Mitsubishi PLC’s or experience of SCADA systems like Wonderware, Iconics, Schneider or other platforms
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Clean UK Driving License
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK
  • For Lead positions we would look for the ability to motivate and manage a team of engineers to improve performance (Must have over 5+ years experience)
