Civils Design Engineer role

Reporting to the Design Manager you will undertake the engineering design from land appraisal through to construction. you will be responsible for appointing Consultants, agreeing fees, liaising with statutory authorities and ensuring that design sits within budget.

Duties to include:

  • Undertake the required highway and drainage designs for projects to secure the approval of and , where appropriate, progress the adoption agreement with relevant Statutory Authorities.
  • Ensure the earthworks required across developments are designed in the mot cost effective way possible
  • Advise the land and planning department on the technical viability of new sites
  • Assist in the production of layouts and technical report for land appraisals and required working drawings

Civils Design Engineer experience required:

PURPOSE

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of client projects. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and validating electrical systems and control architectures to meet project requirements. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Use SolidWorks Electrical to design electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts, considering functionality, manufacturability, and project requirements.
  • Design and validate machine safety-related control systems in accordance with BS EN 13849, including performance level (PL) determination, safety function development, and documentation of verification and validation activities
  • Utilise simulation and modelling tools (e.g., PLC simulation software) to conduct feasibility studies and validate electrical/control system designs.
  • Perform electrical calculations for current, voltage drop, cable sizing, load balancing, and protection to ensure safe, reliable systems.
  • Work with the team to define client requirements, estimate materials, components, and project timelines.
  • Own and track Project Plan milestones to ensure Electrical Design elements meet deadlines.
  • Source electrical components (motors, drives, sensors, switchgear, PLCs) in line with company standards, project plans, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify electrical hazards and design systems to ensure operator safety, including generating compliance calculations and adhering to electrical safety standards.
  • Participate in Machine Risk Assessments and ensure projects comply with safety regulations (e.g., BS EN 60204-1, CE, IEC standards).
  • Engage in build and integration activities, including wiring, panel assembly, prototyping, and product testing.
  • Perform installation and commissioning of electrical systems to meet quality and safety standards in workshops and on client sites as needed.
  • Provide input for trials, factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), and operations & maintenance (O&M) manuals.
  • Ensure all duties comply with CNCR policies, industry best practices, regulations, and relevant ISO standards (e.g., ISO9001, ISO14001).
  • Contribute as part of a multi-disciplined team for Hazard Identification, Risk Assessments, RAMS, and electrical safety compliance.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of system documentation, including O&M manuals, wiring diagrams, control flow diagrams, and schematics.

EDUCATIONEssential

  • Bachelors degree (BEng or BSc) in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • Equivalent combination of practical experience and time-served training may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
  • Understanding of electrical standards, schematics, and control systems.

Carry out planned preventative maintenance on a range of pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, CNC machines and robots in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations and industry standard practices. Be responsible for the recording of all work undertaken. Analysis and resolution of Electrical faults and repairs, driving for continuous improvements to machinery. Follow safety procedures and risk assessments. Work alongside other Maintenance Engineers to combine a great deal of initiative and enthusiasm with a sound understanding of electrical and mechanical issues. Work with Vendors, Production and Process Engineering teams to ensure optimum uptime and improvements to machines. Work Pattern Working days are Monday Friday (weekend work and overtime subject to business needs) Proposed start date: ASAP Based on personal availability if you accept the offer of employment.
