What will you be doing?
Designing and developing control systems using Siemens (S7, TIA Portal, WinCC) and Allen Bradley (RSLogix, Studio 5000)
Developing and maintaining SCADA systems including Ignition and WinCC Professional
Producing Functional Design Specifications (FDS) and Software Design Specifications (SDS)
Creating and maintaining standard software blocks
Supporting FATs, installation, testing and commissioning on site
Troubleshooting and resolving control system issues
Ensuring compliance with industry standards including ATEX, GAMP, FDA and SIL
Where you’ll be doing it
You’ll be joining a specialist engineering business delivering automated pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment. The team works closely across mechanical, process and EC&I disciplines to deliver safe, validated and efficient control systems in a highly regulated environment.
What you’ll need:
Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering, Automation or similar
Experience in panel design, instrumentation or automation projects
Strong knowledge of Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC systems
Familiarity with SCADA and HMI platforms
Experience producing structured control system documentation packs

What will you be doing?
Taking technical responsibility for complex control system projects from design through to commissioning
Acting as Lead Engineer on allocated projects, setting technical direction and ensuring quality standards are met
Overseeing and supporting engineers, reviewing designs and resolving technical challenges
Translating user requirements into robust PLC, SCADA and HMI solutions
Defining system architectures, network design and control philosophies

What you’ll need:
Significant experience in PLC and HMI software development using at least two platforms (e.g. Rockwell, Siemens, Mitsubishi or Schneider)
Strong SCADA development and integration experience
Proven experience leading control system projects across the full lifecycle

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Working knowledge of BS EN 60909 Fault Calculations
Working knowledge of power distribution modelling software
Experience with Protection and control systems (11kV & 400V)
Experience of 11kV & 400V substation design
Experience of unit protection calculations (differential & high-impedance schemes)
Relevant design experience relating to Electrical infrastructure upgrades and working with aging assets.
Working knowledge of the Sellafield Distribution Network and its electrical safety practices
DESIRABLE
Experience of Sellafield Design Processes
Experience with other CAD tools namely Trimble, ERACs and Digsilent
Experience with IEC61850 and power system SCADAs
Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership with the relevant discipline.
