  • To carry out minor body and paintwork repairs to vehicles and appliances to maintain value for money and minimise the time operational appliances are unavailable.
  • To assist in the movement of fire appliances and ancillary vehicles to any Service or other premises as required, maintaining operational availability.

About you

You will have:

  • City and Guilds Motor Vehicle Technician Part II, or equivalent qualification.
  • Undertaken a recognised apprenticeship or period of training in motor vehicle engineering.
  • Full manual driving licence for category B (car) with no pending issues.
  • Significant experience in commercial vehicle maintenance with a sound understanding of the issues involved in maintaining and repairing light goods vehicles.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in the installation, maintenance and diagnosis of vehicle electrics covering areas such as communications, alarm, charging, electromagnetic retarding, automatic gearboxes, ABS, LDW and ESP and CAN Systems.
  • Excellent organisational and co-ordination skills, self-motivated and a team player, able to prioritise and work unsupervised to an appropriate standard within deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills oral and written.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Windows based software packages to record work activities, training records and undertake communications.
  • An understanding of and commitment to Health and Safety in the workplace.

Sopra Steria’s Aerospace, Defence and Security sector is currently recruiting for an Infrastructure Manager to help support a high-performing, key account within the business. The key experience required to be a success in this role would be good interpersonal skills from direct people management to the management of both internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate would also have come from a technical background with an understanding of areas including Server, Database, Linux, Backup & Storage and Security.   • Oversee day-to-day infrastructure operations.
