What will you be doing?

You will be expected to contribute towards the creation and ongoing maintenance of technical documentation and provide material to support the project work or the operational support service.

Who do we need?

We are looking for someone with a passion for infrastructure, ideally from an operational support services background. You will be self-motivated and be able to work autonomously to achieve day to day objectives with significant results on project or operational deliverables, whilst also owning a variety of activities ensuring compliance with project milestones and customer KPI’s and SLA’s. You must be an effective communicator, comfortable directly engaging with customers and colleagues. You must also demonstrate an analytical and systematic approach to technical challenges.

Ideally, you will:

  • Have excellent knowledge of Virtualized Environments such as VMware and Hyper-V;
  • Have excellent knowledge of Windows Server Environments, from Server 2003 – 2019, including OS build, AD, DNS, DHCP and GPO from design to implementation and support;
  • Have strong Linus system administration skills (Ubuntu / CentOS);
  • Have good general knowledge of TCP/IP and networking technologies including load balancing and firewalls;
  • Have good general knowledge of Microsoft stack technologies such as SharePoint, Skype for Business / Teams, MS SQL, MS System Centre, Office365, MS Exchange & CLI tooling such as PowerShell;
  • Have good general knowledge of SAN storage technologies;
  • Have excellent analysis and problem solving skills, taking ownership of complex incidents ensuring these are resolved to the satisfaction of the customer;
  • Possess excellent communication skills;
  • Have experience of producing and updating technical documentation to a high standard;

Our client, a well-established and highly regarded business, is looking to engage an experienced Infrastructure and Security Engineer to join their team.

This is a newly created role driven by continued growth and increased cloud adoption. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the Windows Team across operational and project activities
  • Assess team skills, capacity, and workload to plan and schedule resources effectively
  • Support recruitment activities, including reviewing CVs and interviewing permanent and contract staff
  • Work alongside the existing lead, providing leadership and operational support as required
  • Facilitate onboarding of new starters, including provisioning system access
  • Make informed technical decisions to support delivery and maintain service quality

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong technical background in Microsoft Windows environments
  • Experience managing or leading Windows infrastructure teams
  • Good understanding of Microsoft 365 (O365), both on-premises and cloud
  • Proven ability to plan resources and manage team workloads
  • Experience supporting recruitment and onboarding processes
  • Confident decision-maker with strong stakeholder engagement skills

Working Arrangements

  • On-site presence required initially to integrate with the team
  • Transition to a 1 day a week after the initial onboarding period, depending on programme needs

We are delighted to be partnering with a well-established and highly regarded law firm in their search for an IT Analyst to join their Service Team. This is an excellent opportunity for a customer-focused IT professional to play a key role in delivering high-quality technical support within a professional services environment.

Law Firm IT experience is highly desirable for this role

The Role

Reporting to the IT Service Manager, you will act as a primary point of contact for colleagues across the firm, handling support queries via phone, email and in person, all managed through a service desk system and aligned to agreed SLAs and KPIs.

You will provide day-to-day technical support while also contributing to wider IT initiatives and project work when required. The successful candidate will take full ownership of assigned tickets, ensuring timely resolution or appropriate escalation, and maintaining high service standards throughout.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver responsive, high-quality technical support across a broad technology landscape
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and application-related issues
  • Manage incidents and service requests through to completion within agreed timeframes
  • Undertake user and server administration tasks
  • Support and guide colleagues within the IT team where appropriate
  • Assist with ongoing IT improvement projects

The role is primarily based in Manchester, with occasional travel to the firm s Liverpool and London offices as required.

Technical Environment

You will support and maintain a range of technologies, including:

  • Windows Desktop environments and Windows Server
  • Citrix
  • Desktop PCs and laptops
  • Mobile devices
  • Printers and peripheral devices
  • Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel)
  • Active Directory (user configuration and management)
  • Local area networking, including basic cabling and patching to switches

There will also be opportunities to develop expertise in core legal systems such as iManage and Proclaim.

Working Hours & Benefits

  • 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Rotational shifts between 08:00 and 18:00
  • Participation in a paid out-of-hours support rota
  • Exposure to project work and ongoing professional development

About You

We are seeking someone with at least one year of hands-on IT support experience within a professional services setting. You will be confident working in a structured, SLA-driven environment and comfortable balancing competing priorities.
