What will you be doing?
As our Senior Project Manager you’ll be working on our Thames Water Capital Delivery contract. Ensuring compliance with M Group Water procedures to support the delivery of world class health and safety, customer and quality performance.
You’ll collaborate with the client, designers and delivery teams throughout the Target Cost Setting, design and delivery phases of a project.Ensure compliance with M Group Water environmental processes and procedures.Deliver excellent customer service and achieve above target customer satisfaction scores minimise/reduce the number of complaints received.
You’ll drive increase productivity, without compromising on safety and continuously drive efficiency. Assist in maximising cash collection and minimising work in progress and Deliver targeted margin.Ensure projects are delivered in a safe. Efficient, timely way and promoting best practice in quality management.
What youll bring

  • Experience as a Project Manager of delivering £multi-million utility projects for Utility Companies or similar including on a Design and Build basis

Working closely with the Head of Marketing, you will be responsible for driving and delivering a marketing and communications plan to promote our investment products to external audiences, including financial advisers and consumers.

Job description
This role combines intelligence development, operational activity and leadership. You will manage and support a small team, ensuring the safe, effective and compliant delivery of intelligence work. You will draw upon your operational experience, communication skills and professional judgement to navigate sensitive, time critical and sometimes challenging situations.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll play an important role within a team and work closely with other teams based in the same location and, on occasion, across the country.
You’ll be joining our team of around 11 colleagues. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Line-managing and developing a small team of intelligence officers, assuring their professional performance, ensuring their development and learning, and supporting their wellbeing through personal development conversations, assurance, role-modelling behaviours and addressing issues.
  • Leading the production of high-quality intelligence products. This may include: developing intelligence packages enabling partners to complete criminal and civil investigations; progressing projects delivering insight to inform strategic and tactical responses; coordinating intelligence nationally on a specific risk such as tobacco or alcohol; debriefing and targeting seizures of illicit goods and criminal finances.
  • Planning conducting and directing operational intelligence deployments which could include covert surveillance, taking witness statements or attending domestic and international ports.
  • Working closely with partners within HMRC and across law enforcement in the UK and overseas and handling challenge or confrontation professionally.
  • Preparing, assuring or authorising regulatory applications such as Production Orders, Directed Surveillance Authorities, GDPR requests and interception requests at the frontier.

Additional Requirements for Former RIS or FIS staff and OGD & LEA Applicants
You will be offered a place on the Accelerated Pathway which is an abridged version of HMRC’s Operational Intelligence Course (OIC). The purpose of the Accelerated Pathway is to refresh your previous HMRC training, or align your PIP2 accreditation, with HMRC content and procedures without completing the full OIC and its associated Trial Assessment Period.

  • The Accelerated Pathway is an intensive 4-week residential training course. Prior to the course, you will be given a workbook and guided learning. The course involves a day-one test and an assessed final exercise (FINEX).
  • If successful at application, we will give you the planned training dates where possible, and you must be available for the full duration.
  • Prebooked leave may not to be accommodated due to course availability and capacity.
  • Managers and trainers will assess your skills and set any required upskilling.
  • They will review your performance through discussions and evidence from your duties.
  • Upon completion of the Accelerated Pathway, you will be awarded the Counter Fraud Intelligence Specialist Award from Northumbria University. This is a cross-government recognised qualification.

We recognise that returning RIS and FIS Officers, and external OGD and LEA Officers will require some additional upskilling, and we will provide support to regain or attain HMRC Authorised Officer status. However, we will not offer the full OIC (10 weeks) and subsequent TAP (12 months) which are only offered to trainees new to law enforcement. The Accelerated Pathway is a pass/fail programme. Where an individual does not successfully complete the pathway, HMRC will explore appropriate alternative options, which may include alternative duties or consideration under probation arrangements, depending on individual circumstances.
Flexibility Payments
Understanding and acceptance of the flexibility required, including on call duties, short notice changes and some evening/weekend working.
This post attracts a Level 2 Flexibility Payment (FP) that is paid monthly with salary. This FP allows HMRC flexibility to change your work pattern, at short notice, to meet business needs. You will be expected to undertake periods of On Call. You will also be expected to work additional hours, at weekends and outside your normal working hours/days (including bank holidays).

  • Change Management: manage offshore team to deliver the end-to-end change process, ensure robust governance, quality and compliance. Chair/drive the Change Advisory Board (CAB) cadence and decision-making, improve change success rates and reduce risk to live services.
  • Configuration Management: ensure an effective, third-party-delivered process for CMDB accuracy and actionable delivery.
