My Client is a leading food manufacturing business who are looking for a multiskilled maintenance engineer to join their team. THe role is for someone who is skilled and qualified in both electrical and mechanicalmaintenance and has worked previously in the food or FMCG industry.

Requirements:
Qualified Multi-Skilled Engineer with strong electrical and mechanical skills.
Time served apprenticeship, with appropriate mechanical and electrical capability (Depending on core discipline) SVQ, or HNC.
Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or FMCG environment (food production preferred).
Skilled in planned maintenance, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis across mechanical and electrical systems.
Competent with CMMS systems, ideally Mainsaver.
Strong understanding of Food Safety, Health & Safety, and GMP.
Hands-on, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team understanding team goals.
Excellent communicator with clear, concise reporting and problem-solving skills

Resposibility

• Responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance across a wide range of production equipment, applying your electrical and mechanical skills to keep lines running efficiently.
• Your day-to-day work will involve ensuring compliance with Food Safety, Health & Safety, and quality systems, as well as diagnosing faults, performing repairs, and identifying root causes.
• Youll record all activity, duration, and materials in the CMMS system (Mainsaver) and manage engineering supplies to support ongoing maintenance needs.
• You will also identify and recommend improvements to machinery, production lines, and operational processes, while supporting projects, continuous improvement activity, and productivity initiatives.
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping in line with GMP and supporting or coaching operators to develop basic asset care skills in their areas will also form part of your responsibilities.
• You will need to liaise with appropriate levels of staff to ensure effective communication regarding the resolution of all problems and issues to ensure appropriate escalation steps are implemented to allow, where necessary, appropriate decisions to be made.
• At times monitoring of contractors will be required to ensure their standard of work is acceptable and completed within agreed timescales.

The Role

• To provide 1 st & 2 nd line support to users for all PC hardware, software and associated peripherals. This includes escalating internally or redirecting support requests to the software / hardware supplier where necessary.
• To manage and resolve support calls on the IT Helpdesk and document their outcome to facilitate the resolution of common queries, including pro-actively providing information to users on the progress of outstanding support calls and ensuring messages are passed on to the relevant people.
• Maintaining the IT Departments technical documentation, guidelines and procedures to ensure they are up to date.
• To deploy and maintain PCs and associated peripherals including the redeployment of existing equipment to agreed standards, by performing upgrades, new installations and carrying out routine procedures.
• To create user accounts for new starters on AD, Email systems and ERP systems
• Complete daily checklist to identify any issues early. Any issues discovered need to be resolved as per SLA’s.
• To install and configure operating systems and other software to agreed standards.
• Assist in the compilation and maintenance of an accurate inventory of hardware and software.
• To provide at all times, a professional, courteous and rapid response to individual users.
