TECH-AGNOSTIC ROLE

We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director/Technical Director - Building Performance & Sustainability, based in our London office. You will provide technical leadership in building performance and sustainability, supporting the delivery of complex, high-profile projects and major frameworks in London and across the UK. You will join our growing Building Performance team, contributing to a connected national network of specialists delivering energy, carbon and wider sustainability outcomes across the built environment.

The Building Performance team primarily supports the UK business in terms of energy, carbon and holistic sustainability advice within the Built Environment. The team covers a central role in Property and Buildings multi-disciplinary projects coordinating all WSP disciplines towards the delivery of sustainable designs. While the team works on single building projects it also provides sustainability & energy master planning advice for both urban and semi rural developments, as well as supporting the delivery of BREEAM, LEED, WELL and NABERS consulting services.

Reporting to our London Building Performance Lead, you will help develop and grow the team’s offering across a range of sectors. The growing team will form a key part of our national Building Performance Network (BPN) within the Building Services Practice. The role will be client facing, helping clients to understand how to define and fulfil their strategic goals towards net zero operational energy, embodied carbon and wider sustainability targets.

What you’ll do Technical leadership - building performance & sustainability

  • Lead and assure energy and carbon strategies, performance modelling inputs and evidence based reporting for complex projects.
  • Provide technical direction on operational energy, operational carbon, embodied carbon and low carbon design, influencing decisions from early strategy through design delivery.
  • Advise on relevant UK legislation, planning policy and sustainability standards (e.g. BREEAM, WELL, NABERS; LEED where applicable).
  • Set expectations for quality and consistency: review outputs, manage technical risk, and ensure robust assumptions and traceable evidence.

Project delivery & day to day coordination

  • Coordinate day to day sustainability delivery across multi disciplinary teams, aligning inputs to programme, design stage and client priorities.
  • Act as the sustainability focal point between client teams, internal specialists and external stakeholders - driving actions, decisions and accountability.
  • Translate client ambitions into practical, deliverable strategies; communicate trade offs clearly to both technical and non technical audiences.
  • Support task planning and resourcing across live projects and bids, resolving clashes and prioritising workload to maintain delivery momentum.

Client engagement, work winning & market profile

  • Build trusted adviser relationships and represent WSP in client meetings, workshops and design reviews.
  • Lead bids, proposals and major frameworks: shape technical approach, scope, programme, resourcing and value proposition.
  • Identify cross selling opportunities and collaborate across WSP disciplines to support account growth and strategic opportunities.
  • Champion innovation and best practice, clearly articulating benefits, outcomes and delivery pathways to clients and colleagues.

People development, capability & team operations

  • Actively mentor and upskill consultants, and contribute to senior capability through peer review, coaching and technical challenge.
  • Oversee and support the senior team with day to day resourcing coordination: short term planning, resolving clashes, managing priorities and supporting workload balancing across live projects and bids.
  • Lead inputs to delivery forecasting and financial awareness activities, supporting the team to manage budgets, fees and deliverables effectively.
  • Play a key role in proposal development framework: shaping technical approach, resourcing and programme, and drafting / reviewing content to strengthen bid quality and consistency.
  • Help drive consistent quality and continuous improvement via delivery frameworks, technical standards, training and knowledge sharing.

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate

  • Proven leadership in delivering sustainability and energy strategy for large/major projects, including complex and mixed use developments.
  • A technical grounding in building performance, energy strategy, operational carbon, embodied carbon and low carbon design principles.
  • Client facing capability as a trusted technical lead; able to communicate complex technical topics clearly and credibly.
  • An understanding of the design and construction process and the implications for sustainable design delivery.
  • Experience leading work winning (bids/proposals) with commercial awareness; ability to provide inputs to fees, budgets and delivery forecasting.
  • Knowledge of UK planning policy and sustainability requirements relevant to net zero and carbon outcomes.
  • Experience with people management responsibilities (e.g., line management and/or mentoring) within a complex consultancy environment.
  • Ability to mentor others and contribute to training and capability development.
  • Must be able to obtain UK vetting level of Security Check (SC)

At Similarweb, we are revolutionizing the way businesses interact with the digital world by revealing to them everything that happens online. Our unique data and solutions empower over 6,000 customers globally, including industry giants like Google, eBay, and Adidas, to make game changing decisions that drive their digital strategies. In 2021, we went public on the New York Stock Exchange, and we continue to reach new heights. Work alongside Similarwebbers from around the globe who are bright, curious, practical, and genuinely good people.

About the Role

Search is changing fast. AI powered answers, generative results, and new ad formats are reshaping how people find information and how brands compete for attention. Similarweb sits at the center of that shift, giving marketers the intelligence they need to stay ahead.

Why This Role, Why Now

The search and paid media landscape is going through its biggest shift in years:

  • Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) are creating entirely new strategies for organic and paid visibility that most clients are still figuring out.
  • Paid search, social, display, and affiliate channels are increasingly interconnected, and marketers need unified intelligence to allocate budgets effectively.
  • AI tools are changing how campaigns are built, optimised, and reported on, and the practitioners who know how to work with them are already pulling ahead.
  • Our clients need someone who can speak their language, understand their challenges, and show them how Similarweb solves problems they deal with every day.

What You’ll Do

Your core focus is being the subject matter expert that clients and internal teams turn to when they need a real practitioner’s perspective on search and paid media.

Client & Revenue Impact

  • Partner with sales and account management to support deal cycles, RFPs, and renewal conversations, bringing hands on practitioner credibility to every client interaction.
  • Run discovery sessions to understand clients’ channel mix, budget allocation, and competitive challenges across SEO, AEO/GEO, Paid Search, Paid Social, Display, and Affiliate.
  • Build tailored use case demos and data stories that speak directly to performance marketers, media planners, and agency strategists.
  • Identify expansion opportunities within existing accounts by surfacing unmet needs across the client’s full marketing stack.
  • Guide clients on organic search strategy, including AEO and GEO, helping them understand how AI generated results, featured snippets, and answer boxes are affecting their visibility and what to do about it.
  • Help clients optimised for new search paradigms: LLM referenced content, structured data, entity optimisation, and topic aligned content strategies.
  • Apply keyword research, content gap analysis, technical SEO insights, and competitor benchmarking using Similarweb’s suite alongside other tools.
  • Monitor how SERP landscapes evolve, track shifts in organic click through rates driven by AI overviews, and translate those findings into actionable client recommendations.
  • Advise clients on competitive paid media strategy across Paid Search (SEM/PPC), Paid Social, Programmatic Display, AEO advertising, and Affiliate channels using Similarweb data.
  • Help clients benchmark ad spend, identify competitor keyword bidding patterns, analyse share of voice, and uncover channel gaps across the competitive landscape.
  • Connect organic and paid search insights to help clients make smarter cross channel budget decisions and reduce wasted spend.
  • Support client and internal teams in suggesting or building client facing reports and competitive audits powered by Similarweb data.
  • Actively use AI tools (LLMs, automation platforms, prompt engineering) to build workflows and agents that increase your output and the quality of deliverables.
  • Prototype custom analyses and solutions by combining Similarweb data with AI tools, giving clients a preview of what is possible beyond the standard product.
  • Stay current on how AI is changing search, advertising, and marketing analytics, and bring that knowledge into client conversations proactively.
  • Evaluate the competitive landscape, emerging tools, and industry trends, sharing structured feedback with product and data teams. Such feedback should be curated and made applicable to various core industries we service.
  • Facilitate client feedback sessions and user research to inform the product roadmap for Search and Ads Intelligence.
  • Monitor and report on product KPIs, adoption trends, and solution health across the book of business.

What We’re Looking For Must Haves

  • 6+ years of hands on experience in performance marketing, with deep expertise in both SEO and paid media, ideally at a performance marketing agency managing multiple accounts.
  • Practical experience across at least three of the following channels: Organic Search (SEO), Paid Search (PPC/SEM), Paid Social, Programmatic Display, Affiliate.
  • Solid understanding of AEO and GEO: what it means to optimise for AI generated answers, how LLMs surface content, and what marketers need to do differently now.
  • Comfortable building with AI. You use AI tools regularly to do your work faster and better, and you can clearly explain how you do it.
  • Strong analytical mindset, you dig into data, spot the story, and communicate it in a way that drives decisions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable in front of clients, execs, and internal teams alike.
  • Bias toward action, able to work across ambiguity, prioritise fast, and build things from scratch when needed.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with B2B SaaS companies or marketing technology platforms.
  • Familiarity with competitive intelligence tools or market research platforms.
  • Experience presenting at industry events, writing thought leadership content, or building training programmes.

Hi I’m Abhik, Ashby’s Co-Founder and VP of Engineering. We’re looking for an ambitious full-stack engineer who is laser-focused on solving customer problems and making the right long-term investments to solve them not only today but in our future features and products.

What Ashby gives you in return is the best of both early and growth stage environments. The agency and no nonsense of a seed startup: you write product specs, make product and design decisions, and build in an almost no meeting culture. While also the product market fit and scale of a growth stage startup: tens of thousands of daily users who depend on your software and eagerly await your next feature.

We have notable customers like Notion, Linear, Shopify, and Snowflake. Our growth and retention metrics are best in class among our peers: we have tens of millions in ARR, growing >100% year over year, very low churn, and many years of runway. We’ll share more details once we meet.

You’ve probably seen this role posted before, and it’s because we’re always expanding the team (we’re on track to double this year). We’re bubbling with ideas on how to support Talent Acquisition through software, and we’ve started the journey of building products beyond Talent Acquisition. We read every application and aim to respond to yours within 3 4 days (often sooner).

About the Role and How We Work Our engineering culture strives to recreate the environments where we did our best work as ICs - where we had the ownership and agency to impact our users with creative and innovative software.

I started my career building software for artists in the Visual Effects industry. It was a formative experience for me as a software engineer because success relied on my ability to be a product manager and designer. I talked to artists to understand their needs. I came up with ideas. I did industry research, designed interfaces, and prototyped ideas. I watched artists use what I built and decided what to tackle in the next iteration. No daily stand ups, no t shirt sizing, no planning meetings.

I studied computer science to solve problems, not tickets, and this felt exactly like that. I not only felt creative and fulfilled but the agency and ownership we were given as engineers powered an incredible amount of innovation.

Innovation came differently (or not at all) at technology startups beyond the seed stage, often through an engineer’s force of will and ability to push back against culture (rather than any encouragement from it). Engineering was narrowed to implementation and delivery, partly due to the influence of other departments and partly due to the influx of “Agile” processes like sprint planning. In those companies, I felt like a JIRA jockey.

At Ashby, we’re building an environment that is optimistic about what engineers can own and achieve. An environment that embraces innovative engineers, and, frankly, often stays out of their way. As a Product Engineer, you’ll take ownership over a large portion of one of our products and own projects end to end (wearing hats traditionally worn by product and design). You’ll research competitors, write product specs, make wireframes, and more. To ground it with examples, product engineers at Ashby have:

  • Designed and built automated interview scheduling. This feature automates scheduling by calculating possible times from a pool of interviewers and other constraints, and then presenting these times to the candidate for selection via our responsive web app. This solves the “Calendar Tetris” problem I talk about in What We’re Building.
  • Built a generalized declarative filter architecture that allows users to create complex filters for any record with a consistent UI and compile it to SQL in our backend. Many user facing features use it.
  • Specced, designed, and implemented a feature that allows users to complete signing offers entirely within Ashby. This project involved talking to customers to understand their requirements, deciding what technologies to use, building a prototype, and working with other team members to integrate the final implementation into additional features.

What We’re Building As engineers, we are used to tooling that makes us better at what we do. When we started Ashby, we saw the opposite with Talent Acquisition software. Recruiting teams were leveling up how they did their work, but instead of software meeting this new standard, it held them back.

Scheduling a final round is an excellent example. Recruiting teams wanted to schedule candidates faster, track interviewer preparation and quality, and do it with half the headcount. A recruiter needed to manually collect availability from the candidate, identify qualified interviewers, perform “Calendar Tetris” to find who is available to interview the candidate, schedule on the earliest date possible, and make any last minute adjustments as availability changed. They must do this while considering the interview load on each individual and whether interviewers need to be trained and shadowing others. TA software didn’t help.

As hiring managers, we know TA is a critical function, and as engineers, we know software can do better. So, we built and continue to build Ashby to give TA teams the highest standard of tooling. Software that’s intelligent and powerful. Software that provides insights into where they’re failing and automates or simplifies many of the tasks they’re underwater with. We want other functions and departments to be jealous of what TA teams can do with Ashby, and today they often are!

Why You Should or Shouldn’t Apply Software engineers come in many flavors, not all of which fit our model. Here are some things to help you decide if this fits you and what you’re looking for:

  • You’re not afraid to tackle any part of a technology stack. You do what’s necessary to successfully deliver a feature, whether writing frontend or choosing new infrastructure. We’ll provide a supportive environment to do it successfully (e.g., design system, SRE team).
  • You’ve tackled projects with a lot of product and technical ambiguity, and you thrive at the intersection of the two.
  • You know how to strike the right balance between speed and quality.
  • You are ambitious and always looking to improve your skills.
  • You’re an excellent collaborator and communicator.
  • You seek to create leverage in your work.

Put another way, you shouldn’t apply if:

  • You need company driven process and structure to get your projects across the finish line.
  • You only want to do exciting work.
  • You can get lost in the details.
  • You haven’t led or taken ownership of projects before.
  • You want to mentor earlier career engineers.
  • To you, a tech lead, staff, or principal engineer is someone who spends most of their time project managing or doing architecture reviews.

Engineering Culture Our engineering culture is motivated by Benji’s (my Co founder and CEO) and my belief that a small, talented team, given the right environment, can build high quality software fast (and work regular hours!). We do it through:

  • Minimal process with ownership over decisions normally made by product and design
  • Natural collaboration and deliberate communication
  • Investing in tools and abstractions that give us leverage
  • Putting effort into building a diverse team

Minimal Process & Lots of Ownership The best engineers we’ve worked with delivered reliably magical outcomes. They took customer problems and relentlessly drove them to solutions that were not only successful but often brilliant and creative. While they did this with minimal oversight, stakeholders were never in the dark as to what was going on, and no setback was a surprise.

Traditional product development processes aren’t meant for the best engineers. Their purpose is to create consistent outcomes regardless of the engineer’s skill. But, consistency comes at the expense of an engineer’s time and freedom-both ingredients necessary to generate those magical outcomes. As a result, process stifles the best engineers and doesn’t give others the opportunity to practice the behaviors that made the best engineers the “best.”

At Ashby, we want to build an environment that encourages every engineer to be their best. So, at Ashby, every Engineer runs their project. Product Managers (and Designers) build strategy, do customer research, and hand off problem briefs to Engineers. Engineers take on the rest: they research the problem, write product specs, build wireframes, and implement their solution end to end. We rely on engineers, not process, to push information outward to the relevant folks (e.g., Product Managers) and pull folks in to help (e.g., Designers, Infra). It’s a new level of ownership for many engineers, but we’d rather an engineer fail a bit and coach up their skills than use process as a crutch.

Head of Events - Luxury Members Club , London

Head of Events Luxury Members Club London

This is a genuinely exciting appointment for a luxury events professional ready to take full ownership of a world class events function.

Our client is an established luxury members club based in central London, and they’re looking for a Head of Events who can lead from the front - someone who brings equal parts creativity and operational rigour, and who understands instinctively what it means to deliver experiences at the very highest level.

You’ll be inheriting a strong foundation: a dedicated team of five, an enviable venue, and a diverse events calendar that spans large scale flagship occasions through to intimate member dinners and curated brand collaborations. The brief is to evolve it - bringing fresh thinking, commercial edge, and the kind of meticulous execution that this environment demands.

What the role involves

Leading and developing a team of five events professionals, you’ll have full oversight of the planning and delivery of both internal member events and external commercial partnerships. You’ll manage budgets, logistics and supplier relationships, while also driving the creative direction of the events calendar. Think wedding level coordination discipline, applied to a luxury lifestyle context.

This role carries genuine commercial weight. Beyond delivering exceptional events, you’ll be expected to think and act like a business owner - identifying the right opportunities, converting high value clients, and building an events function that performs as strongly on the P&L as it does on the guest experience.

You’ll target and convert premium event business aligned with the Club’s brand and values, with a sharp focus on repeat clients and long term relationships. Leveraging your existing network will be key - both to grow the Club’s client base and to raise its profile in the broader events landscape.

Commercially, you’ll work closely with the Director of F&B to set annual budgets and promotional strategy, attending monthly F&B meetings to stay aligned with wider departmental priorities. You’ll collaborate with the Finance team to ensure budgetary targets are met and P&L performance is accurately tracked and reported.

Expect to produce a monthly report on the events business - covering performance metrics, conversion rates, emerging trends, client feedback, and forward opportunities. This is a role for someone who is as comfortable in a strategy conversation as they are on an event floor.

What they’re looking for

  • A proven track record in luxury events - ideally within a members club, five star hotel or premium venue environment
  • Demonstrable experience managing complex, high end events with multiple stakeholders
  • Commercial awareness and confidence working with premium brands and partners
  • A creative mindset backed by strong operational capability
  • Hands on leadership - you’ll be in it with the team, not just directing from a distance

What’s on offer

Creative autonomy, a prestigious platform, and the opportunity to genuinely shape something. This is a fully on site role with occasional flexibility for admin days.

The Knowledge Manager is responsible for managing, developing, and optimising the knowledge assets within our People team. The role involves ensuring that operational HR knowledge is effectively captured, organised, and disseminated across teams to enhance productivity, efficiency, and decision making. This person will play a critical role in developing knowledge sharing practices, tools, and resources that enable consistent performance and continuous improvement.

Mission

To orchestrate the “Single Source of Truth” for all HR information and govern the self service ecosystem of content.

Key Skills & What You Will Be Doing

  • Knowledge Governance & Oversight: Establish the standards for how HR information is captured, stored, retrieved and maintained. You act as the final gatekeeper for quality, consistency, and tone across the entire People ecosystem.
  • Gap Analysis & Strategy: Proactively identify “blind spots” where employee documentation is missing or unclear. You collaborate with SMEs to ensure every common employee question has a verified, structured answer. You routinely review and update existing knowledge to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Ecosystem Orchestration: Oversee the health of the self service platform, ensuring the Knowledge Graph is logical and AI models are consuming high quality, relevant data.
  • Content Experience Design: Ensure information isn’t just “available” but is “meaningful.” You translate complex policy into employee centric language and ensure it is delivered through the most effective digital channels. You ensure consistency in content, language, and formatting across all knowledge materials.
  • Policy & SOP Lifecycle Management: Design the end to end process for transforming departmental decisions into AI ready and readable answers, ensuring outdated information is instantly purged to maintain accuracy.
  • Analytical Problem Solving: Investigating “knowledge failures” - such as when an AI gives a low confidence answer or an employee can’t find information. You diagnose whether the problem is the content structure, the wording, or the policy itself, and resolve it to improve the system’s intelligence.
  • Implement feedback loops: to ensure continuous improvement of knowledge processes and resources, and track key metrics to measure the success and impact of knowledge management initiatives.
  • AI Assisted Documentation: Specifically using AI tools to capture and draft SOPs and “tribal knowledge” that often sits outside of formal policy. You evaluate and implement new technologies or systems to improve knowledge sharing and access.
  • Product Readiness: A new focus on ensuring all content meets a “Definition of Ready” before it is pushed to the live employee facing product (the AI bot/portal). This includes testing the “user experience” of the information itself.
  • SME Collaboration: Partner with functional leads to ensure their specialised knowledge is codified and updated without requiring them to be experts in content management systems.

What you’ll need

  • 3+ years of experience in knowledge management, preferably in HR/Operations landscape (although functional alignment not essential)
  • Strong experience with knowledge management systems, tools, and platforms (e.g., Preferably Confluence, ZenDesk or similar)
  • Proven ability to work cross functionally and manage projects across different departments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess the effectiveness of knowledge sharing practices
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast paced environment
