Education / Certificates
Degree in Mechanical Engineering – 2-1 minimum (or equivalent)
Chartered Engineer with at least 5 years’ experience in design, repair, maintenance or inspection of major pressure plant

We are recruiting for an ambitious and technically strong Construction Project Engineer to join a specialist contractor delivering complex healthcare projects across the UK.
This is a pivotal coordination role supporting the Construction Manager and Project Manager to ensure packages are procured, managed and delivered safely, on time and within budget.
If you are organised, commercially aware and looking to progress toward senior site or project management, this role offers genuine exposure and development.
The Role
Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will take responsibility for coordinating assigned construction packages from procurement through to completion.
You will act as the link between site, design and commercial teams — ensuring information flows, progress is tracked and subcontractors are aligned with programme requirements.
This is a hands-on role with regular site attendance and national travel as projects require.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Construction Manager and Project Manager in delivering construction packages.
Monitor progress against programme, drawings and specifications.
Assist with subcontractor procurement, assessment and negotiation (time, cost, quality and variations).
Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to meet programme milestones.
Manage technical submittals and ensure approvals are secured in line with project requirements.
Finalise purchase details for materials and deliveries for review and approval.
Attend progress and subcontractor meetings.
Maintain project trackers, reporting systems and quality documentation.
Liaise with commercial teams regarding variations and package performance.
Support defect management and quality control processes.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
