You will need to demonstrate practical use of problem-solving tools (8D, Fishbone Diagram, Pareto Charts, 5 why?), have an understanding of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), FMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow / Process Map. As part of this role is customer facing, you will have experience of direct customer contact in new production introduction and therefore possess excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

We require an experienced individual of high calibre to lead projects for the Water Engineering team at Tetra Tech across a range of activities such as river, coastal and flood defence appraisal and design, hydraulic modelling and hydrology assessment, surface water management and the development of business cases. We work across a diverse range of clients delivering challenging infrastructure projects for the private and public sector.

Our projects can range in size from £10k commissions up to £100m schemes covering flood risk projects for defence, transport, local government, utility, infrastructure, commercial, industrial and residential development.You will work independently and proactively on technical aspects from a projects inception, determining client briefs, to the delivery and close out of projects in accordance with best practice.

You will lead projects low and medium risk projects both technically and as a project manager as well as support junior colleagues throughout the delivery of projects, including client facing and leadership roles. You will instruct, supervise and mentor junior staff in the design and management of schemes and work with clients to ensure delivery of projects to time and cost, and to help manage change. What we are looking for in a lead engineer

  • Experience in a hands-on engineering role within a regulated manufacturing environment (pharmaceuticals, FMCG, food, or similar).
  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
  • Good knowledge of GMP, Health & Safety, and quality compliance.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with packaging and production equipment is desirable.
  • Comfortable leading change and supporting business growth through engineering best practices.

What will you be doing?
The Maintenance team provides technical services for a range of construction related disciplines, and activities, focused on delivering great service everyday supporting our clients primary assets to enable an extraordinary airport, fit for the future.
This role would be based out of our Heathrow Office and is suitable for existing Engineer or Experienced Supervisor looking to progress their career to the next level.
Youll be supporting the Maintenance and Site Managers with expertise, managing and developing a reactive team in the quality and timely maintenance delivery for a variety of civil and infrastructure assets. Youll also ensure workflow runs smoothly, ensure standard processes are followed by the team, review outputs for quality-controlled documentation, track performance, and manage software.
Ensuring excellent safety, standards and quality are maintained throughout the life cycle of the project.

What youll bring

  • Site experience.
  • Knowledge of the requirements of Health and Safety and Environmental Standards.
  • Proven capability in delivering technical packages on civil engineering schemes.
  • Proficient in the use of setting out instruments.
  • A desire to progress career by gaining a professional qualification with ICE.
  • Demonstrate MGroup Transport (Aviation) values and behaviours.
  • Good grasp of commercial responsibilities
  • High standard of presentation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret scopes, technical information and drawings.

  • SMSTS or equivalent Site Management Training
  • Holder of CSCS accreditation

  • Understanding of PAS128 requirements and of other industry standards
  • Experience in the analysis of GPR data
  • Previous experience in a management role
  • Level 3 QCF Certificate in Utility Mapping and Surveying
  • Experience working within engineering and aviation sector
