THE ROLE & OPPORTUNITY
As a result of expansion my client has an exciting new vacancy for a ProductionManager for their R&D function who MUST have strong experience with strain gauging;

Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, duties will include:

  • Run and oversee the day-to-day operation of our load cell production facility
  • Manage the team building, calibrating, and testing load sensors
  • Own production schedules, output targets, and quality standards
  • Work with operations to optimise parts forecast

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

The ideal applicant will have;

  • Firm knowledge of strain gauging &tenure withinthe industry
    • Analog electronics
    • Material impacts on strain gauge/adhesive choice
    • Surface preparations
    • Strain gauge suppliers
  • Strong background in mechanical and electronic assembly, ideally with sensor style products
  • Experience in leading a production team or be ready to step-up to lead a team hands-on manager, not just desk-based
    • 2-3 people in the team
  • Has worked with calibration procedures and is comfortable with test equipment
  • Can interpret engineering drawings
  • Ideally from a low-to-medium volume, high-precision production environment
    • Understands capacity management

  • Support the preparation of BIM documentation such as Task Information Delivery Plans (TIDPs) and/or modelling protocols.
  • Contribute to structured asset information using systems like Uniclass.
  • Assist in basic digital reporting, dashboards, and data-driven tasks.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors in a supportive project environment.
  • Take part in training, workshops and learning activities to build your digital and technical capability.

Essential

To succeed in this apprenticeship, you will need:

  • A minimum of three A-levels (including Maths) or their equivalent
  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs grade 9-6 (A-C) or above including English Language and Maths
  • Interest in BIM, digital construction, engineering, or the built environment.
  • Basic awareness of Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, or similar digital modelling tools.
  • Good communication, organisation, and time-management skills.
  • A proactive attitude, willingness to learn and methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.

Desirable

Although not required, it would be beneficial if you have:

Interest in automation, visual programming, AR/VR, reality capture, or digital twins.

Academic or project experience related to engineering, CAD, BIM, or construction.

A full UK driving license.

  • Ready and willing to travel for offshore rotations
