System Engineer Role Description
LU Asset Performance Delivery (APD) is responsible for the maintenance and renewal of the asset base that makes up the London Underground transport network including Rolling Stock, Signalling and Track assets, civils infrastructure, stations & premises, building services and station systems and the power network.
The next phase in LU Engineering’s activities to modernise how LU APD manages and maintains their assets commenced in April 2025 with the start of a five year programme of work. Job Overview
The Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer is responsible for providing technical authority and ownership for all rotating equipment, ensuring compliance with the company’s Philosophy, UK safety, environmental, and quality systems, along with statutory legislation and API/ISO standards. The role is focused on reviewing and enhancing maintenance strategies and working practices to increase the reliability and availability of critical assets such as gas turbines, compressors, pumps, and power generation packages. The engineer manages specialist maintenance activities, including budget oversight, planning, and execution of overhauls and long-term service agreements. Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Support the shutdown team throughout the Planned Maintenance Shutdown (PMSD) process, from scope identification (e.g., major overhauls, blade inspections) through to execution and start-up.
• Proactively manage equipment lifecycle, leading reliability improvement initiatives by identifying and eliminating bad actors. Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) on equipment failures and implement robust corrective actions
Drive the evaluation and implementation of technological innovations, such as advanced condition monitoring systems, predictive analytics, and equipment upgrades to enhance facility safety, production performance, and reliability.
• Create quality plans & lead the identification and implementation of suitable quality controls for rotating equipment jobs.

AndersElite are recruiting for a Mechanical Project Manager for a reputable building services contractor, based in Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire.
This is a long term freelance position, with the potential to lead to permanent employment if it suits all parties, available from February 2026 and will offer a day rate of approximately £300 per day.
Our client is well established in the Midlands and further afield, so this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join an experienced team.
Reporting into the Director, the selected candidate will be required to oversee mechanical services installations on new build and refurbishment projects within the commercial, education and leisure industry sectors.
Typical projects will range in value from £250k up to £2m in mechanical services value, so applicants should have proven experience as the overall mechanical lead on projects of this size in relevant building environments.
This is hybrid role in which the selected candidate can manage their diary between office work in Stoke, some remote working and attending regular site visits.
The Mechanical Project Manager will be fully responsible for the running of projects (up to a maximum of three at one time) from inception through to completion, assisting on design and project planning, overseeing site installation, as well as all cost control and commercial management.
