About You
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
5+ years’ experience in a civil engineering environment
Working towards Professional / Chartered certification

Experience on Design & Build Project as a Contractor is a definite advantage
Previous experience and knowledge of National Grid Transmission Procedures and Technical Specification

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will oversee the planning, implementation and management of mechanical services across a wide range of properties. You’ll provide expert design input, manage statutory compliance, lead contract administration and ensure all mechanical systems meet regulatory and organisational standards.
You will report to the Facilities Co‑ordinator and provide line management to a Mechanical Services Technician.
This is an initial 12‑month contract, with the potential for extension depending on organisational needs.

Astute’s Power team are looking to recruit a Lead Outage QA /QC Engineer in Leeds on a contract basis.
Key skills required for the Lead Outage QA/QC Engineer role
Pre-Outage activities will be to Perform vendor and workshop surveillance inspections for pressure part fabrication prior to outage mobilisations.
Review fabrication documentation including ITPs, QCPs, WPS/PQRs, welder qualifications, and material certification packs.
Verify material traceability (heat numbers, MTRs, PMI requirements) for pressure boundary components.
Inspect fit-up, welding, dimensional compliance, and fabrication workmanship for boiler and piping components.
Witness and review NDE activities (UT, RT, MT, PT) and ensure results meet acceptance criteria.
Monitor fabrication hold/witness points in line with inspection and test plans (ITPs).
Support FATs, punch list closeout, and release notes prior to shipment.
On the outage you will be required to lead and coordinate the site QA/QC Engineers across multiple fronts.
Inspect installation and repair works on boiler pressure parts including membrane walls, superheaters, economisers, headers, and pipework systems.
Witness pressure testing activities, including hydrostatic tests and associated reinstatement checks.
Review and approve inspection documentation for handover, including NDE reports, weld logs, and pressure test packs.
Raise NCRs, manage quality issues, and ensure corrective actions are implemented and closed out effectively.
Support final documentation turnover and completion dossiers for outage deliverables.
Must be an experienced QA/QC engineer on pre and post outages or shutdowns on large industrial plants, preferably Waste to Energy and/or Power plants.
Must have experience on vendor/manufacturing inspections and site outage inspection activities.
Must hold Confined Space, Face Fit Testing Certificate, CSCS Card (or equivalent) and CSWIP Welding Inspector Qualification

An exciting new opportunity has come up for a Lead PES Engineer based at Hinton House in Warrington on a hybrid basis - 3 days a week in the office (Mon/Tue/Wed Typically) with occasional visits to Sellafield Site, Suppliers and Contractors Facilities.
This is a 12 month contract role inside IR35, the individual will be responsible for all aspects of PES delivery across numerus projects that have PES aspects from concept to handover.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role involves being the SME for PES delivery across the SNM projects portfolio. SC will be required.
Range of tasks and projects delivering SNM Value Stream scope with a focus on the delivery of Operational Technology/ Programmable Electronic Systems.
They will functionally report to the Senior/Responsible Engineer for the projects (this could be different people from project to project).
The role will require the individual to deliver the project PES deliverables in line with SL tailored process of ISO 15288 (SL QMS, standards, and guides) and be the key CE&I Person regarding PES delivery.
This role will require strong stakeholder management of operators and maintainers, operation management, safety case managers, nuclear custodians, OTG, construction and commissioning staff etc throughout the lifecycle but especially during the stakeholder requirements definition process and requirements analysis process.
As a key role within the Integrated Project Team (IPT) the individual will work closely with other design disciplines, human factors, quality, cost controls, REs & AEMs, systems engineers and OTG.
The role also covers the management and execution of supply chain delivery of the systems within the technical processes box above. Including authoring, checking, and reviewing deliverables from internal and external sources, verification and validation, quality, time, and cost management.
The individual will functionally manage any internal (DSA) resources working on PES delivery for the projects ensuring the deliverables are delivered to quality, time, and cost.
Manage any reporting requirements including ensuring any technical, safety and engineering risks are identified and escalated to the Senior/Responsible Engineer and AEM.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have significant demonstratable experience in working in control system requirements capture and delivery through to handover.
Demonstratable evidence of delivery in line with ISO/IEC 15288 or equivalent processes.
Familiar with industrial cyber security practices i.e., BS 62443.
Familiar with the V-Model processes and deliverables for PES systems delivery.
Can demonstrate ability of undertaking site visits to ascertain validation of client requirements and managing a high number of client stakeholders for successful completion of design.
Experience of managing PES deliverables and people in all phases of the PES project delivery lifecycle.
Experience of managing the supply chain (PES design & build) within an NEC3 contract or equivalent
At least 5 years working in roles where knowledge of systems / PES design lifecycle delivery was a key attribute.
At least 3 year’s experience of working within a regulated and quality assured system (preferably nuclear) in roles where professional engineering judgement is the key attribute.
Have the ability to work as part of an integrated delivery team, and individually, working within sometimes restrictive time constraints.
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
Have strong interpersonal skills and be able to interact with people at all levels
Demonstrable experience in highly-regulated industries.
Demonstrable understanding of the legislative and regulatory environment in which Sellafield operates, including those covering safety, design, and operation of plant including Nuclear Installations Act, Site Licence Conditions, HASAWA, EWR, IRR.
Degree Qualified in appropriate discipline

The Consultant provides an appropriately qualified and experienced named person to act as the Project Manager and administer the duties of a Project Manager as required by the NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC) for North Ayrshire Council’s ‘B714 Dalry Upgrade’ Scheme.
The Project Manager will undertake an impartial construction contract administration role (using the CEMAR Contract Administration software package) to keep the Client informed of progress, changes and issues during construction. This will allow the project to be delivered on time, on budget and to the high standards required.
The Project Manager will attend all meetings required of them by the Scope of the main Contract works.
The minimum qualifications required for this role are 8 years’ experience and current NEC4 ECC PM Accreditation.
