Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-driven Quality Engineer / Quality Controller to support our high-precision engineering operations. The role requires a strong understanding of engineering drawings, material specifications, and quality documentation. To support business expansion and development. The successful candidate will be responsible for verifying both physical product conformity and associated documentation to ensure they meet strict internal and customer standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed physical measurements of engineered components using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, etc.
  • Compare measured results to engineering drawings, tolerances, and specifications.
  • Inspect components at goods-in, in-process, and final inspection stages.
  • Record findings accurately and raise non-conformances as required.
  • Review material certificates (ISO/EN standards such as EN 10204, EN 10025, EN 10216, etc.).
  • Support Project Management with the production of Manufacturing Inspection Test Plans (MITP) and customer QHSE specification and commitments
  • Check traceability documentation, heat numbers, batch records, and manufacturing paperwork.
  • Ensure suppliers provide correct and compliant certification packages.
  • Collate and produce customer documentation packages
  • Support quality investigations and assist in root cause analysis.
  • Participate in internal audits and continuous improvement activities.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and contribute to the QMS.
  • Willingness to travel to off-site locations.

Education:

  • HNC in An Engineering Discipline

Experience:

Essential

  • Strong ability to interpret and understand engineering drawings, and tolerance requirements.
  • Understanding of ISO / EN material specifications and certification requirements.
  • Experience in mechanical inspection and dimensional measurement techniques.
  • Competent in reviewing and validating quality documentation and traceability packs.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills for reporting quality issues.

Desirable

  • Experience in high-integrity engineering environments (aerospace, defence-level standards, precision engineering, etc.).
  • Trouble shooting using multiple processes (5Y, Fishbone, 8D).
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems and non-conformance processes.
  • Experience in NDT techniques. (Dye Pen, MPI, UT etc).
  • FMEA.
  • LEAN / Six Sigma.
