Restaurant general manager
Welcome to KFC. Home of the real ones.
We sell the world’s best chicken. We’ve done it for a long old time — since 1939, when the idea of
finger lickin’ good chicken popped into our Colonel’s head. Now, we proudly serve 1000+ communities across the UK and Ireland, bringing the grit, pride and iconic reputation that started in Kentucky all those years ago.
People who are original. Individual. Fresh. We come to work to be ourselves, and to make something of ourselves. We bring the graft and the laughs every day — building our own community, as we serve our original recipe chicken to the ones, we’re in.
In our place, ambition grows. Careers build. Potential goes further. Our doors are open, and they can take you anywhere.
If you join our team, we only ask one thing. That you be you.
Because that makes us, us.
Sounds good? Great. Here’s more about the job.
About the role
Lead from the front, take full ownership of the restaurant, and smash performance goals while building a team that doesn’t just meet standards but exceeds them. Own the numbers, the vibe, and the experience, keeping everything running smoothly while creating a space where both guests and the team thrive.
What will you spend your time doing?
What we’d love from you:
Keeping it real
We don’t hire staff — we hire people. People with real lives and aspirations, building real careers. Each of us has something special to add to the mix we call work, and we’ll always encourage you to add your perspective.
See, at KFC, everyone’s welcome — whatever your background, and whatever future you’re creating. We’ll look out for you because you’re one of us, not because you work for us. We’ll invest in your potential, because it’s what we’ve always done. But most of all, we’ll give you the freedom to be you, wherever (and whoever) you happen to be.
What’s in it for you:
We offer benefits that make your life that little bit easier, because we know the juggle is real.
KFC for everyone:
Whoever you are and wherever you’re from, KFC is a place where you can bring the real
you to work. We’re here to support you in being yourself, whether you work with us, or are
trying to.
Our promise is this: every person who applies
to a role at KFC, regardless of age, background, ethnicity, gender, ability, religion or sexual orientation, will have an equal opportunity
to work here. We don’t just welcome, we encourage applications from underrepresented groups in all industries.
If you’d like any additional support with
your application, have a disability or condition that may affect your performance during the recruitment process, or have any other requirements — just let us know. We’ll be
there to help you be the real you.
Ready?
We hope so. If you’re ready to be part of our community, now’s the time to apply.
Worried you aren’t ticking all the boxes? Don’t - we’d still love to hear from you.

Junior Data Engineer - Public Sector Contract: Initial 7 months (extension possible) Rate: £310 per day, Inside IR35 Location: Remote with travel to Waterloo (2-3 days per month) Security Clearance: SCâeligible (5 years UK residency required) I am working with a key consultancy delivering a major UK public sector programme and are looking for a Junior Data Engineer / Scientist to join a mixed delivery team building and operating secure, reliable data platforms that support critical public services. This role is designed for someone early in their data career who wants to develop strong engineering fundamentals in a real production environment. The role - a junior, generalist data engineering position. This is an engineeringâled role, not a specialist or senior position. The team is ideally looking for a generalist in their first few years within data engineering or data science, who is building breadth across data platforms, pipelines and operations. You'll focus on: \* Designing, building and maintaining data pipelines \* Supporting the operation of data lakes and data warehouses \* Implementing and improving ETL / ELT processes \* Using Python and SQL to transform, validate and move data \* Working with analysts and developers to turn data requirements into technical solutions \* Monitoring data quality, documenting data models and lineage, and resolving issues \* Automating data workflows and operational tasks \* Participating in Agile delivery, sprint work and collaboration \* Supporting incidents and helping improve platform reliability over time \* Working within public sector data governance, security and privacy standards This role offers exposure to how data platforms are built, operated and supported in a regulated environment - forming the foundations of a longâterm data engineering career. What this role is not To avoid misalignment, it's important to be clear about what this role is not focused on: \* â Not a Data Analyst role \* â Not a Power BI / dashboard developer role \* â Not an insight, reporting or MI position \* â Not a modelling, ML or researchâfocused role \* â Not an LLM, AI or advanced data science role While you may work alongside analysts and data scientists, this role does not centre on: \* Building dashboards \* Producing insights or reports \* Statistical modelling \* Predictive or machine learning solutions The emphasis is on data engineering foundations and platform delivery. Ideal candidate profile This role is best suited to someone who: \* Is in their first few years of a data engineering or data science career \* Wants to build core engineering skills rather than specialise immediately \* Has handsâon experience with SQL and Python \* Understands basic data modelling and ETL concepts \* Is comfortable learning through delivery in a production environment \* Is interested in how data platforms work endâtoâend, including operations and support \* Is keen to grow within public sector data platforms Who this role is unlikely to suit This role is unlikely to be appropriate for candidates who: \* Are very senior data engineers or architects \* Have primarily worked in advanced ML, AI, or researchâfocused roles \* Are specialised Power BI, reporting or MI developers \* Are looking for a role centred on analysis, insights or modelling \* Are seeking leadership, ownership of platform strategy, or advanced optimisation work Applications that demonstrate significant seniority or deep specialisation rather than juniorâtoâmid generalist experience may not be progressed. Required skills and experience Your CV should clearly demonstrate: \* A degree in a technical discipline (Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics or similar) \* Handsâon experience with SQL \* Experience using Python, Java or Bash \* Understanding of ETL processes and data modelling fundamentals \* Experience with version control (e.g. Git) \* Comfort working in Agile / DevOps environments \* Awareness of data security and privacy \* Eligibility for UK SC clearance Nice to have (but not essential) \* Exposure to AWS, Azure or GCP \* Familiarity with tools such as Airflow, dbt, Spark \* Awareness of CI/CD pipelines or containerisation \* Experience in public sector or regulated environments Important note for applicants This role is deliberately positioned as a junior, generalist data engineering role. Please ensure your CV clearly demonstrates handsâon data engineering fundamentals, rather than senior leadership, advanced AI/ML work, or analyticsâonly experience. Data Scientist - Operational & Optimisation-Focused AI £700+ per day | Inside IR35 | Long-term programme (2-3 years) I'm currently looking for Data Scientists to join a highly capable, collaborative team working on real operational problems at serious scale within a wellâestablished, commercially driven organisation. This is a role for someone who enjoys building things that actually run the business - not experiments that sit on a slide deck. You'll be working on postoptimization, decisionâmaking problems where the output of your models directly affects cost, performance, and customer outcomes every day. Location & Contract \* Rate: £700+ per day (Inside IR35, depending on experience) \* Contract: Rolling 6âmonth contracts, with a realistic 2-3 year roadmap of work \* Working pattern: Hybrid - 2-3 days per week onsite in West London / Paddington area and West Drayton \* Start: ASAP (subject to onboarding) What the role is really about In this role, you won't be siloed away from the business. You'll be embedded alongside engineers and operational stakeholders, working on problems where data science is central to how decisions are made, not just how performance is reported. You will: \* Design and build optimisation, predictive, and prescriptive models that support live operational decisionâmaking \* Work on problems where multiple constraints, tradeâoffs, and dependencies matter (cost, service levels, experience, risk) \* Take solutions from idea â model â production, and stay involved once they're live \* Iterate based on realâworld performance and business feedback, not theoretical metrics \* Explain why a model behaves as it does and help the business trust and use it A good way to think about this role: you are shaping the engine that runs dayâtoâday operations, not creating insights for someone else to interpret later. I'm particularly keen to speak to you if your background includes: \* Handsâon data science using Python, ML Frameworks and modern tooling \* Experience with optimisation, simulation, machine learning, or advanced analytics applied to real systems \* Clear examples of models you've personally built and put into production, not just prototyped \* Working with engineers to deploy, monitor, and improve solutions over time \* Operating in commercial, corporate environments where decisions have financial and operational consequences Experience in supply chain, logistics, asset management, scheduling, or similar domains is useful - but what really matters is how you think about operational problems. Why this role is worth a conversation \* The work is meaty, operational, and genuinely impactful \* You'll be surrounded by people who understand and value good data science \* There's longâterm stability (not a short "fireâandâforget" contract) \* You get to see your work run at scale, improve, and evolve A quick but important note on CVs This is a specialist role, and CVs that read as academic, R&Dâonly, or proofâofâconceptâfocused tend not to land well. Please make sure your CV clearly shows: \* What you personally built \* How it was used in production \* What measurable impact it had on the business CVs that make that clear tend to stand out very quickly. If you enjoy solving hard, realâworld problems and want your models to matter, I think this is well worth exploring. If you'd like to talk it through, I'd be very happy to have a conversation.
