IoT Project Engineer – Electrical Location: Midlands - Telford, Coventry or Birmingham We’re looking for an IoT Project Engineer to join our Digital Services team. You’ll work with customers across industrial and utility sectors, designing and deploying remote monitoring systems using IoT sensors and communication gateways. What you’ll do: * Perform installed base surveys and collect necessary information to provision the required digital platform. * Coordinate with other SE Field Services Engineers, subcontractors and customers to commission the IT/IOT element of digital services. * Work with Customer Success Managers (CSMs) to liaise with customer project teams and coordinate intrusive installation / maintenance activities. * Collaborate with the Connected Service Hub teams to ensure efficient provisioning and operations. * Support tendering teams for the design of complex solutions. * Review customer electrical distribution network to identify critical assets for condition monitoring. * Identify existing Scada, PME, BMS or monitoring systems in place with the customer. * Define the architecture and select appropriate devices (gateways, communication agents) for efficient data retrieval from assets. * Support Project Managers and Business Development Managers as the high level technical lead interface with customers, including discussions with C-level stakeholders. Ensure the accurate interface between customer functional needs and the technical capabilities of services. * Support customer projects on all connectivity matters, including cybersecurity and analytics. Identify areas for asset management value proposition enhancement through broadened services or increased asset coverage. You will lead and manage the High Voltage (HV) Cable and HV Plant subcontractors ( in delivering the works and ensuring compliance with all relevant requirements. You will manage the HV designer and sub-contractor design activities and deliverables to ensure they are completed in line with the agreed Programme and Project requirements. You will be the technical lead for the HV works on the project, ensuring both input and output deliverables for the design are tracked and reported to the clients Project Director and Engineering Manager as required. You will also manage the MEP designer and sub-contractor design activities and deliverables to ensure they are completed in line with the agreed programme and Project requirements. Main Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: * Manage and communicate all design queries, comments and information required from Design workshops and meetings and keep records.
* Raise requests for further information internally and externally from the whole project team.
* Support the Design manager to ensure all HV and MEP design deliverables are timeously provided as per the of design programmes. * Review Designers Monthly reports and submissions and produce monthly reports on design progress and any other design specific elements.
* Manage and update the design deliverable schedule.
* Review all design deliverables and ensure that they are completed to the expected standard. Challenge and resolve when not, including reviewing of all drawing in line with the Clients Scope/requirements.
* Attend interface meeting with external parties and assign/follow up on actions related to the Design.
* Arrange internal design interface meetings with construction department
* Ensure compliance with design management processes required by the contract.
* Collaborate with the engagement of external suppliers/subcontractors.
* Manage provision of drawings to project team - document control.
* Manage the BIM requirements for permanent and temporary works together with the BIM/CAD Technician.
* Identify Temporary Works and assist lead TWC with preparing Design briefs for HV & MEP Designs from subcontractors. Experience/Qualifications:
* Candidates will have 10+ Years experience with/on high voltage projects with a Contractor
* You will have previous experience and knowledge of National Grid Transmission Procedures and Technical Specification
* You will have an understanding and working knowledge of construction methods and outputs. * You will have both substantial construction and design experience.

The Role
