You’ll work with customers across industrial and utility sectors, designing and deploying remote monitoring systems using IoT sensors and communication gateways. It’s a hands-on role that combines technical problem solving, stakeholder interaction, and UK travel. Ensure the accurate interface between customer functional needs and the technical capabilities of services. * Support customer projects on all connectivity matters, including cybersecurity and analytics. We are currently recruiting for a Site Services Engineer to join a well-established and highly respected food manufacturing business based in Liverpool.

The Role
This is a hands-on engineering position responsible for maintaining and supporting the site’s utilities and plant infrastructure. You will play an important role in ensuring utilities systems remain reliable and compliant to support manufacturing operations.
Key responsibilities include:
• Maintenance and operation of site utilities including steam boilers, steam distribution, compressed air, refrigeration and water systems
• Inspection and maintenance of steam systems including feedwater, condensate systems, traps, valves and pipework
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across plant room infrastructure
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and reliability of utilities systems
• Coordinating contractors on site, including reviewing RAMS and issuing permits to work
• Supporting utilities-related upgrades and improvement projects
• Ensuring compliance with PSSR regulations and site safety procedures
• Supporting audits and maintaining accurate maintenance documentation

Our Rolling Stock Standards team produce and maintains the technical content of standards, support the research and development programme with expert knowledge, and provide specialist advice within RSSB and for our members.
As our Lead Rolling Stock Systems Engineer, you’ll work at the interface between engineering expertise, industry collaboration and standards development, shaping the technical framework for rolling stock while supporting research, innovation and informed decision‑making across the GB rail industry. This is a permanent role based at our Fenchurch Avenue offices in London on a hybrid basis. The closing date for this role is 4th May 2026.
Responsibilities * Working with Technical Specialists develop the technical content of standards related to rolling stock for the benefit of the rail industry in terms of safety, performance and cost effectiveness. Apply principles concerning existing and emerging technology for rolling stock. * Draft the proposed content of standards and related material in collaboration with industry stakeholders so that they achieve their intended purpose and provide the expected benefit. Respond to consultation comments and seek agreement from those commenting. Help ensure that project schedules are adhered to, risks identified and mitigated, and support progress reporting and decisions on policy. * Be a key contact for rolling stock engineering, research and other technical/specialist areas as required, providing expertise in clear, concise verbal and written form suitable for the target audience. * Represent the interests of the GB rail industry as a delegated representative of the Professional Head of Rolling Stock, including GB standards committees and system interface committees, European and international standards committees and their GB ‘mirror’ working groups, to ensure that the GB stakeholders’ collective position is represented and communicated. * Present relevant material, including proposals, draft standards and related documentation.
