We are looking for an enthusiastic School Finance Officer who will work under the direction of the School’s Office Manager to provide an efficient and effective financial support service to the Headteacher and the Governors. They will ensure that services are delivered in accordance with service objectives, financial regulations, and within written guidelines and frameworks set by the School Financial Regulations and Wiltshire Local Authority.

The successful candidate will:

  • have excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written

  • be proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel and Financial Management Systems

About You

If you are a Geo-Environmental Engineer looking to progress with a passion for working within the built environment, as part of a team orientated department, then we would love to hear from you.

Ideally you will have up to 3 years experience in site investigation however further technical training will be provided.

The Building Regulations Act 2022 is a crucial piece of legislation in the UK aimed at enhancing building safety standards and establishing a more robust regulatory framework for the construction and management of buildings. Within this role, you will oversee and facilitate adherence to building regulations, manage design safety, coordinate design risks, and lead the design team. You will also ensure compliance with relevant legislation and codes of practice, contributing to safer construction practices and a more secure built environment. Our clients span various sectors, including heritage, commercial, education, retail, local authorities, and central government, offering you a diverse range of projects.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver BSA and Principal Designer duties across a portfolio of medium-complexity projects, ensuring work meets quality, compliance, and regulatory standards.
  • Manage project scopes, deliverables, and documentation within agreed fee, programme, and resource parameters.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, designers, and contractors, escalating issues promptly when required.
  • Seek guidance from Senior Consultants on complex tasks and develop competence through shadowing, feedback, and active learning.
  • Maintain accurate time records, support forecasting for hours and resource planning, and contribute to invoicing accuracy for assigned projects.
  • Contribute to improvements in templates, registers, processes, and working methods to enhance efficiency and consistency across the team.
  • Support the preparation of fee proposals and bids by providing technical input under the guidance of Senior or Principal Consultants.
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks, proactively managing progress, risks, and priorities.
  • Engage positively with colleagues and contribute to a collaborative, supportive, and healthy team culture.

About You

In order to be considered for this role, you must:

  • Proven experience in either construction, design or building control, showcasing a solid understanding of the intricacies involved in these areas.
  • Have a good understanding of Building Regulations, allowing for informed decision-making in compliance with legal standards.
  • Demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for innovation and collaboration, coupled with a drive towards achieving excellence in building safety practices.
  • Have previous experience working with a PDBR.

We’re  looking to appoint a Senior Hydrologist  to join our  Water Civil Engineering team . This role can be carried out from a variety of offices including Leicester,  Cardiff,  Leeds, Manchester, Bristol,  Glasgow  or London.

The Senior  Hydrologist  will act as the conduit between junior colleagues and the Principal Hydrologist. You’ll be delivering technical outputs and checking the work of junior colleagues for final sign off.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Undertake hydrological and flood hydraulic simulations and provision of model outputs and analysis , supporting others to do so where required.
  • Use FEH and other standard methodologies to support engineering design, river engineering, restoration/habitat improvement, flood alleviation  schemes  and hydrological/hydraulic design on projects from pre planning stage all the way through to construction detail .
  • Run Flood Risk Assessments, bespoke hydrological assessments, drainage design and strategy, and hydraulic modelling using Flood Modeller Pro, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, WINFAP 5,  ReFH  2, Low flows 2 or similar software .
  • Support the Flood Risk and Hydrology Team in all aspects relating to the use or output of our software portfolio and provide advanced modelling and content creation support , as well as  responding to specific scope and deliverable requirements from clients.
  • Support others in the analysis of data and data sets to define trends, correlations and anomalies using  appropriate technologies  and  software .
  • Maintain your Continuing Professional Development (CDP) plan of training  in accordance with  Institutional requirements, which will keep you  up to date with  technical advances and  benefit  you and Pick Everard.
  • Ensure that you understand and  comply with  all Pick Everard Security, Health & Safety, sustainability and social value standards, requirements, practices, and procedures.

About You

Our ideal Senior Hydrologist will have:

  • BSc/BEng/MSc/MEng degree relevant to hydrology .
  • Chartered member of CIWEM / ICE or other relevant professional body with 2 - 4 years post qualification experience .
  • Strong scientific and engineering knowledge in relation to hydrology .
  • Experience in flood hydrology using FEH and other standard methodologies to support engineering design, river engineering, restoration/habitat improvement, flood alleviation  schemes  and surface water design on projects from pre planning stage all the way through to construction detail .
  • Experience in managing  bespoke hydrological assessments, drainage  design  and strategy,  as well as  hydraulic modelling using Flood Modeller Pro, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, or similar software.
  • Experience in designing and supervising hydrological surveys  and designing solutions.
  • Experience of working on large multi-disciplinary projects.

  • Good knowledge and understanding of land development, the planning process, national planning  policy  and UK legislation.
  • Strong CAD experience and GIS skills using Arc,  MapInfo  or QGIS.
