Morson Edge are working with a tier 1 contractor who are seeking an Design Engineer to join their Civils/Structural Engineer division.
The Role
The purpose of this role is to carry out detailed structural design and checking of temporary works and permanent works for civil engineering, and to provide technical support to assist with operational activities.
Essential
Previous experience within the structural engineering field, experience in the detailed design of structures either permanent or temporary works including the use of frame analysis software, structural design software and the use of CAD software for design purposes and sketches
Ability to carry out calculations by hand or in software such as MathCAD
Working knowledge of relevant industry specifications (Eurocodes, BS 5975 and other BS standards for structural design still used in the industry)
Experience in a structural engineering office carrying out design calculations, analysis and developing or following structural methodology
Degree, or equivalent, in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering
Thorough knowledge of structural principles
Knowledge of construction processes, methods, etc.
Good team worker and able to coach others, but also able to exercise own judgement and work independently and manage own time and tasks
Effective communicator and able to assert own view
Ability to identify structural suitability, critical load cases
Desirable
A mix of site and design office experience
Incorporated or Chartered membership, or equivalent, with a relevant professional institution (or en route to achieving such a qualification)

The role of the Design Engineer Heating Systems will involve:
Role of Design Engineer is to design a range of renewable heat pump systems across a range of domestic and commercial projects.
Lead and execute the full renewable heating design process from initial concept through to installation.
Produce, update, and maintain detailed heat pump and system designs in line with technical and regulatory standards.
Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.
Ensure all designs comply with manufacturing specifications, MCS standards, technical requirements, and customer expectations.
Coordinate with installation teams and stakeholders to ensure accurate implementation of designs and system performance.
Dealing with project values from 50k - 500k
Stay up to date with industry standards, legislation, and new technologies.
The ideal applicant will be a Design Engineer Heating Systems with:
Must have be heat pump qualified within either design or install
Would consider an installer coming off the tools or a commercial heating engineering background
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
