This is a full-time contract role inside IR35 and is based in Warrington on a hybrid basis with 1 day a week in the office required and 4 days from home.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
Creation and updating the projects working ETAP model, Production of fault calculations, Protection reports and arc flash risk assessments, Power and protection specialism support to the wider design team. Contribute to the updating of Sellafield’s engineering standards and best practice.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Working knowledge of BS EN 60909 Fault Calculations
Working knowledge of power distribution modelling software
Experience with Protection and control systems (11kV & 400V)
Experience of 11kV & 400V substation design
Experience of unit protection calculations (differential & high-impedance schemes)
Relevant design experience relating to Electrical infrastructure upgrades and working with aging assets.
Working knowledge of the Sellafield Distribution Network and its electrical safety practices
DESIRABLE
Experience of Sellafield Design Processes
Experience with other CAD tools namely Trimble, ERACs and Digsilent
Experience with IEC61850 and power system SCADAs

The Company
Based in Marchwood, Southampton, Stanelco RF Technologies (Stanelco) is a division of Biome Technologies plc.
Stanelcos small, multidisciplinary team specialises in the design and manufacture of bespoke engineering solutions for a wide range of industries utilising induction heating and dielectric welding systems.
With a strong focus on high-frequency RF technologies, projects typically range from £50k to £500k+ and include RF heating systems, electrical and electronic control systems, and integrated mechanical handling solutionsfor the Medical, Industrial and Nuclear sectors. Delivery timelines vary from 3 to 12 months, covering the full process from project acquisition through to commissioning and compliance.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the successful candidate will operate as a key member of a multi-disciplinary engineering team, delivering technically robust, safe, and compliant solutions to Stanelcos global customer base.
You will act as the technical authority for electrical and electronic aspects of projects, working with cross-functional teams to define architectures, requirements, and specifications.
The role includes periodic UK and international travel to commission new systems and support existing installations.
Candidate Profile
Given the size and nature of the business, this role offers some flexibility and can be tailored to the skills and experience of the successful candidate. We welcome applications from experienced Engineer /Senior Engineer/ Lead Engineers who can provide authoritative leadership across electrical and electronic design, safety, and compliance.
Ideally, you will be educated to Degree level (or equivalent) in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, with several years demonstrable experience in the development of industrial or process-based equipment. You will be a natural problem-solver, comfortable operating in a hands-on, project-driven engineering environment.
