We are looking for a Technical Officer to join our Housing, Asset Management, Stock Improvement Team on a permanent part-time contract, 14.5 hours per week. These hours can be worked flexibly throughout the week.
You will be confident in managing data, digital processes and workflow tools, as this role has a clear focus on the Microsoft Power Platform:
Working within a team of three other Technical Officers, the successful candidate will focus on the development, maintenance and improvement of the digital systems that support the upgrade, repair and planned maintenance of our Council Housing stock, which totals over 13,000 tenancies.
The administrative location for this post is in Inverurie. However, the Stock Improvement Team all work from home as their base. The council has a ‘hybrid’ approach to working that favours home working over working from an office location, but you may attend some face-to-face team meetings/training in offices. ‘Hot desks’ can also be booked at various Aberdeenshire Council office locations. We meet and communicate regularly using MS Teams.
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service, tenants, and the organisation.

As a Principal Clean Water Process Engineer in the D&AT practice, the successful candidate would have the following responsibilities:
Responsible for producing and reviewing technical deliverables such as design reports, drawings, calculations, and scopes of work with defined scope.
Provide technical clean water process input into project design deliverables for complex multi-disciplinary projects and work with the project management team to successfully manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes.
Collaborate with client, operational, project, or service activities within your immediate team and other related AtkinsRéalis teams.
Provide mentorship to less experienced colleagues and help to grow the Clean Water Process Engineering capabilities within the local team.
Work independently with minimal technical guidance. Exercise personal judgement to solve difficult problems where appropriate and provide guidance to junior team members.
Provide technical support for bid proposals.
Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
Adhere to quality assurance standards in design including check and review of your own work as well as others.
Chartered or Incorporated Chemical / Process Engineer.
Proven experience in coordinating or managing a Clean Water Process engineering design delivery team for a design consultancy included within a multi-disciplinary environment.
Takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions to design problems.
Requires strong knowledge and design / practical experience in drinking water treatment process and principles - conventional and advanced treatment technologies.
Practical knowledge of current design codes and standards as well as industry best practices, including CDM Regulations.
Ability to work independently with minimal technical guidance.
Experience in design and delivery of projects with adherence to UK safety and environmental regulations, process safety techniques (e.g. HAZOP), knowledge of capital and operational costs - and risk assessments, as well as whole life carbon assessments.
Experience in the UK Water market is preferred.
Demonstrates strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly and effectively within diverse multi-disciplinary teams.

About The Role
Key Deliverables
Lead the design and development activities of the Omagh Electrical Engineering team for the entire product lifecycle, concept, design, prototype, validation, compliance, lifetime support.
Manage the day-to-day activities of the Hardware and Software engineering teams, with a focus on delivery and quality of overall system designs.
Design leadership and decision making on control system design on mobile and industrial products in line with our NPD roadmap and project orders.
Further development of the site design capabilities in EPLAN.
Ensure that new designs conform with relevant equipment standards and that compliance documentation is completely accurate and up to date.
Establish new and improve existing design processes and procedures as the team and product portfolio continues to grow.
Provide support for existing and new product in conjunction with our aftermarket team.
Ensure new designs are fit for purpose, with simplicity, functionality and quality in mind.
Ensure on- time product development of all assigned design projects.
Provide high quality design output, with appropriate design calculations, documentation and BOM accuracy to a high standard.
Work with Sales and customers to ensure that the requested product specifications are clearly documented.
