The Opportunity
We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams in the planning and delivery of TKMS ATLAS UK bids, projects, and product developments.
You’ll play a pivotal role in driving engineering excellence - from developing robust technical solutions to ensuring successful project delivery across time, cost, and quality objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead engineering work packages and oversee the delivery of technical outputs to agreed time, cost, and quality.
Plan, coordinate, and manage engineering design activities across the full lifecycle - from concept through to test, acceptance, and delivery.
Apply system engineering principles and project management methodologies to ensure technical integrity and compliance.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, customers, and external stakeholders.
Report on project performance, including schedule, cost, quality, and risk management.
Drive innovation and continuous improvement in engineering delivery.
Develop engineering technical solutions, cost estimates, risk assessments, and project programmes for upcoming bids and contracts.
Support the development of design and technical procurement specifications.
Ensure design processes are documented and verification of system requirements is demonstrated.
What You’ll Bring
Qualifications & Skills
Degree or HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or equivalent relevant experience).
Strong written and verbal communication skills - including technical report writing, bid preparation, and presentations.
Knowledge & Experience (training provided where required)
Specialist knowledge of electrical and electronic systems.
Experience with CE/UKCA directives, EMC, and electrical safety standards.
Proven ability to implement engineering lifecycles and system engineering processes within product development.
Experience leading engineering design teams and supporting through test and acceptance phases.
Understanding of project management principles and commercial processes (estimation, costing, pricing, tenders, and bids).
Technical management experience as a supplier/integrator.
