Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Programme Manager to join Cosworth to support our internal combustion engine projects. The Role:

We are seeking a Principal Electronics Engineer to provide technical leadership within a team of around 15 engineers. The role involves leading electronics design, supporting R&D development, mentoring engineers and contributing to key engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead electronics design and set engineering best practice
Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary projects
Contribute to R&D and technology development
Identify technical risks and oversee critical design activities
Support bids, proposals and new business opportunities
Mentor and support junior engineers
Technical Focus

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Organised, proactive and detail-oriented
Willingness to travel occasionally to customer or supplier sites
Most Mechanical Project Manager roles sound the same on LinkedIn.
“Manage stakeholders.”
“Drive delivery.”
“Ensure project success.”
But on a real construction project it usually comes down to something much simpler:
Can you actually run the job?
I’m working with a London M&E contractor looking for a Mechanical PM to deliver projects typically ranging from £20k - £750k.
The work is proper building services delivery in live buildings:
HVAC, ventilation, AC, pipework, BMS, plant upgrades and decarbonisation works across commercial, heritage and public-sector estates.
A typical PM here might be running 4–5 projects at once, depending on complexity.
It’s not a corporate environment where ten other people do the planning, procurement and coordination for you.
This is a contractor environment where the PM actually:
• Works the programme (Asta ideal)
• Reviews drawings and raises RFIs
• Coordinates subcontractors
• Manages variations
• Drives commissioning and handover
The company turns over around £5–6m, has a relaxed culture, but expects PMs to take ownership and be accountable for their projects.
If you’re mechanical bias, from an M&E subcontractor background, and enjoy actually delivering projects - not just reporting on them - it’s well worth a conversation.
