Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience managing maintenance of industrial EC&I equipment within a similar industry (chemical,
    pharma, food etc)
  • Good understanding of maintenance techniques and their application
  • Knowledge of applicable international standards (e.g., IEC 60079, IEC 61511)
  • Experience working in a regulated environment (e.g., COMAH, Chemical, Oil & Gas etc.) is not essential but highly desirable

As a project leader, you will guide our teams and support our clients in the delivery of the portfolio as well as support bidding and proposition activity as we continue to grow the team.

Responsibilities:

We require an experienced individual of high calibre to lead projects for the Water Engineering team at Tetra Tech across a range of activities such as river, coastal and flood defence appraisal and design, hydraulic modelling and hydrology assessment, surface water management and the development of business cases. We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Principal Electrical Building Services Engineer to support and develop the project delivery capabilities of our busy and successful building services team.

Candidates will successfully lead and deliver multiple, medium complexity projects without supervision, or packages of high complexity projects under the direction of more experienced staff.You will provide advice to clients and will take responsibility for managing and cultivating client relationships and securing new work. What You’ll Do

As the Power Civils Lead, you will take responsibility for civil engineering outcomes across multiple projects, ensuring quality, consistency and technical rigour. Your responsibilities include:

  • Leading, managing and developing a team of civil engineers and designers working across a diverse power project portfolio
  • Overseeing design packages for substations, substation extensions/upgrades, onshore renewables and wider grid infrastructure
  • Ensuring robust quality assurance, technical governance and design compliance
  • Undertaking technical and feasibility studies, site investigations and engineering assessments
  • Supporting bids, tenders and proposal development for new opportunities
  • Providing on-site engineering advice and resolving project-based civil/structural issues
  • Mentoring junior engineers and promoting knowledge sharing across the team

What We’re Looking For

  • HND or Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Ideally IEng or CEng, with membership of ICE, IStructE or similar
  • Minimum 5 years’ civil/structural design experience in substation or electrical infrastructure projects
  • Strong background within the Electrical Transmission & Distribution sector
  • Solid understanding of CDM regulations
  • Good knowledge of UK Environmental and Waste Management legislation
  • Detailed familiarity with National Grid Transmission Procedures, particularly:
  • TP106, TP135, TP137, TP141, TP153, TP184, TP188, TP219, TP221, TP235, TP241
  • Proven ability to supervise, mentor and lead technical teams

KierBAM are a Joint Venture (JV) partnership between Kier and BAM UK & Ireland - BAM UK & Ireland’s infrastructure segment is currently delivering the redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site located in Plymouth and is seeking a CAD Engineer. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and possess a couple of years experience in design. Be competent in auto CAD/CIV3D and have a working knowledge in Revit. Have experience in rebar design and detailing with an eye for detail, able to check and validate drawings/models to and from the client while acting as a support function between site and Document Control.

Due to the site being a high-security military naval base, additional security checks will be required a BPSS level of security clearance is necessary. These checks can take up to 8 weeks to process. Only candidates holding EU, NATO, 5 Eyes, or MISWG member passports and who have been UK residents for the last 5 years can be considered for this role.

Making Possible

In this role, you will be working in a live MOD facility. Your day-to-day will include:

  • Act as a subject matter expert for the production of drawings and provide technical support to personnel as and when required.
  • Ensure that all drawing work is carried out in compliance with ISO 19650, BAM and CAD standards.
  • Provide Drawing production training, both to the team members and to the supply chain.
  • Provide support to the Document Control team to review Drawings before submitting to the client.
  • Understand the hardware and software requirements on the project and communicate with the BIM Lead and Project information Manager.
  • Represent the company where necessary at internal and external meetings.
  • Maintain high safety and environmental standards in accordance with company policies and report any inadequacies
