Purpose:

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that routine PPM is carried out to all electrical and mechanical plant in accordance with Site task schedules and asset lists.
  • Ensure that reactive tasks throughout the building are completed and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made. These reactive calls to also include concessionary stores and fabric related items.
  • Ensure that plant faults and defects are swiftly remedied to maintain plant in serviceable order.
  • Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works. To provide parts inventory and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works.
  • Ensure Computer Based Maintenance system, e.g. Concept, Smart Hub, is kept up to date and that PPM and reactive tickets are closed out with accurate data captured.
  • Ensure that all relevant paperwork is completed regarding reactive and breakdown works and that it is passed without delay to the contract administrator.
  • Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared, and used for all tasks undertaken to ensure safe working practices at all times.
  • Ensure that all plant rooms under the responsibility of Smart are locked always and are kept in a clean and tidy condition.

Education and Training:

  • Formally trained in an electrical or mechanical engineering discipline to City and Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 3

Your New Role…

We have had an exciting new position open up working within our dynamic Technical Services team, responsible for show systems, lighting & sound at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour - The Making Of Harry Potter.

The role has frontline Duty Technician responsibilities as and when required in response to the day-to-day technical needs of the attraction. You will also be required to provide the highest levels of customer service to visitors to the attraction and internal customers.

This is a twelve-month fixed term contract position.

Your Role Accountabilities…

  • Setup, operate, maintain, troubleshoot and control all aspects of industry leading show technology including lighting, sound, video, show control and integrated systems to ensure consistent visitor experience
  • Ensure all WBSTL technical and exhibition related maintenance requirements are delivered within agreed schedules and standards.
  • Assist with the delivery of live events as and when required.
  • Ensure public and staff safety at all times.
  • Monitor protection of assets and equipment within the tour areas in order to maintain the level of quality, reliability and maximise life span.
  • Comply with internal health and safety regulations and working practices at all times.
  • Maintain good communication channels across all departments including Visitor Experience, Studio Facilities and Corporate Archive.
  • Work as part of a technical project team for themed feature development, installation and maintenance projects as directed by the Technical Services Management team.
  • Contribute to the day-to-day running of the WBSTL and form part of the Visitor Services team covering weekends, evenings and school holidays 363 days a year on a shift pattern involving AM and PM shifts.

Qualifications & Experiences…

  • Proven track record in a similar maintenance position, preferably in the entertainment, visitor attraction or service industry.
  • Knowledge of live event production and the relevant audio-visual skills involved in the delivery of such events.
  • Experience of working with installed audio-visual show systems and fault finding and trouble shooting on these as required.
  • Basic carpentry and maintenance skills and a good working knowledge of workshop environments.
  • Previous experience of working in an operational and customer facing environment where there are significant numbers of the general public on site.
  • Proven IT skills with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office and associated packages.
  • Basic knowledge of I.T switch networks and I.P based control systems.

Working Pattern

This is a full-time position, averaging 40 hours per week. The role operates on a flexible rota, including a mix of early, mid, and late shifts. Shift times range from 6:30 AM (earliest start) to 10:45 PM (latest finish).

The successful candidate will be required to work every other weekend as part of the regular schedule.

ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE

Senior DV Cleared Infrastructure Engineer (Wintel)

Location: London (Full-time, 100% onsite)
Salary: 75,000 - 81,000 + Bonus
Security Clearance: Active DV clearance required

Overview

We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer with active DV clearance to join a high-security environment in London. This is a hands-on role focused on Wintel and core infrastructure services, supporting and maintaining critical systems in a fully onsite setting.

You’ll be working as part of an experienced infrastructure team, taking ownership of enterprise-scale environments and contributing to the stability, security, and improvement of key platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, support, and maintain Windows-based infrastructure
  • Administer and support Active Directory, including GPOs, DNS, DHCP, and user/device management
  • Manage and support VMware virtualised environments
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues across servers and core services
  • Apply security best practices within a highly regulated environment
  • Participate in system upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation
  • Work closely with other infrastructure, network, and security teams

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Active DV clearance (must be current)

  • Strong experience in Wintel infrastructure engineering

  • In-depth knowledge of:

    • Windows Server (2016/2019/2022)
    • Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP
    • VMware vSphere / ESXi
  • Solid general infrastructure troubleshooting skills

  • Experience working in secure, enterprise or government environments

  • Comfortable working full time onsite in London

Desirable Skills

  • PowerShell scripting
  • Backup and recovery solutions
  • Monitoring tools (e.g. SCOM or similar)
  • Exposure to security-focused or air-gapped environments
