Reporting directly to the Controls System Lead you will be a key member in ensuring the production facility is kept running. You will be involved in all aspects of planned and reactive maintenance within their operation. As a structural integrity engineer, you will be engaging primarily in structural integrity assessments including primary strength, fatigue, fatigue crack growth and fracture assessments, in accordance with ASME III and R6 defect tolerance assessment code.

You will be supporting a wide range of programmes from in-service support, new build, and future programmes.

You will also be building and maintaining Finite Element Analyses (FEA) models to extract stresses to be used in the justification of the components.

What you will be doing:

You will be undertaking a broad range of mechanical assessments, including linear, non-linear finite element analyses.

• Making use of traditional hand calculation methods, commercial finite element codes (mainly Abaqus) and bespoke analysis codes.

5+ years previous experience of full system design for diesel or gasoline engines is essential.

• Supervise on-site contractors and arrange work permits
• Work to heights of approximately 12 meters
• Complete any other associated tasks as required

Maintenance Engineer Person Specification;

• Previous working experience within a maintenance environment
• Mechanical and Electrical fault-finding diagnosis and resolution
• Ability to work on single and three phase machinery
• Electrical 17th/ Electrical 18th Edition test and inspection is desirable
• Have an understanding of Atex and its limitations is desirable
• Basic welding and fabrication experience is desirable
• Experience of SEMA-compliant racking inspections and maintenance is desirable
• IPAF or working at heights equivalent is desirable
