Role overview

As the Senior Multiskilled Engineer, you’ll be the go-to person for all things maintenance and engineering on site, owning the day-to-day reliability of the site. Working closely with site leadership, you’ll help shape maintenance strategy, support continuous improvement projects, and ensure the site runs safely, efficiently, and in line with strict environmental and operational standards.

What you’ll be doing

  • Taking lead responsibility for the safe and efficient running of all assets, prioritising breakdown response and root-cause fixes.
  • Planning, carrying out, and improving PPM schedules to minimise downtime and extend equipment life in a harsh, heavy-industrial environment.
  • Electrical and mechanical fault finding and repair on conveyors, drives, motors, pumps and associated plant, including basic PLC/controls fault diagnosis where required.
  • Coordinating and overseeing any external contractors, ensuring work is completed safely, to spec, and with minimal impact on production.
  • Identifying and delivering engineering improvements, from reliability upgrades and small CAPEX projects to layout and safety enhancements.
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records, ensuring statutory checks and compliance activities are completed on time.
  • Acting as a technical lead and point of support for operators and any other engineers on site, helping to build a right-first-time, continuous improvement mindset.

What you’ll bring

  • Time-served apprenticeship and relevant engineering qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 / ONC / HNC or similar) in electrical or mechanical maintenance.
  • Strong multiskilled background with solid electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills in a production or industrial environment.
  • Experience working in heavy manufacturing, or similarly demanding settings where reliability and safety are critical.

  • An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced CAD/CAM Engineer to join a dynamic team working closely within the technical design and tooling team, responsible for producing precision components, ensuring quality and efficiency while adhering to safety standards.
  • The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in operating CNC machinery, with a passion for machining and a keen eye for detail.
  • Focus on CAM creation, optimisation of programmes and cutter selection.

Role:

  • Read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications to ensure correct machining processes.
  • Work to tight tolerances and inspect finished parts to meet quality control standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
  • Program CNC machines using Fusion software and load using controllers such as HAAS, HURCO, training will be provided for the Fusion software but prior CNC programming knowledge is required.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds to optimize machining efficiency. Set clamps fixtures and angle plates to effectively hold the parts.
  • Work with various materials, including stainless steel, aluminium, hardened steels, mild steel, and engineering plastics.
  • Ensure health & safety regulations and workplace procedures are always followed.
  • Keep a clean and tidy work area.
  • Work within 12 strong technical design and tooling environment.

Experience Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, primarily on CNC milling machines; experience with CNC turning is an advantage.
  • Prior CAM programming experience; Fusion desirable (training provided).
  • Familiar with HAAS, HURCO, or similar machines.
  • Confident reading engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Proven ability to work to tight tolerances and inspect parts accurately.
  • Strong focus on health & safety and workshop standards.
  • Experience in a precision engineering or tooling environment.
