    • Python (including frameworks like Django, Flask, or FastAPI)
    • PostgreSQL and relational database design, optimization, and maintenance.
    • AI Development Tools such as Windsurf, Aider or Augment.
  • Demonstrable experience building and scaling SaaS platforms in a production environment.

  • Strong understanding and practical application of Agile software development methodologies.

  • Hands-on experience integrating AI tools, APIs, or platforms into software solutions.

  • Domain experience in Recruitment Technology, HRTech, or closely related fields is a must.

  • Proficient in software architecture, microservices, RESTful API design, and cloud-native development (AWS, Azure, or GCP preferred).

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices.

  • Solid grasp of security best practices, data privacy, and GDPR compliance.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic approach to delivering solutions.

    • Knowledge of front-end performance optimisation and accessibility standards.
    • Exposure to machine learning pipelines or data engineering workflows.
    • Prior experience working in startup environments or high-growth technology companies.

Benefits

  • Hybrid working as standard
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Flexible holiday scheme
  • Paid time off to move home

Company

We’re working with a highly specialist software business operating in a critical, safety-focused global domain, supporting infrastructure that underpins modern connectivity and energy networks. Their platforms are used by operational teams worldwide and must be reliable, scalable and always available.

The company has a long-established core application and is now entering an exciting modernisation phase, beginning with a major UI refresh and followed by broader improvements across tooling, services and ways of working. This is a business where software directly supports real-world decision-making, and where developers work closely with users who genuinely depend on the systems they build.

The role is fully remote (UK-based) and offers a salary of up to £70,000, depending on experience.

Role

As a Software Developer, you’ll join a small, experienced development team responsible for a mission-critical web application and supporting internal systems. This is a hands-on role combining new development, UI modernisation, and application support.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Enhancing and maintaining a Java-based web application used by operational teams
  • Playing a key role in an upcoming modernisation programme, starting with UI improvements and user-facing enhancements
  • Working closely with non-technical and operational users to understand issues, requirements and opportunities for improvement
  • Delivering fixes, small enhancements and new tools or services based on real user needs
  • Supporting live production systems, including investigation and resolution of application issues
  • Contributing to improvements in architecture, tooling and development practices over time

Core Technology Stack

  • Java (server-side development)
  • Java web technologies including JPA, JDBC, HTTP/S, threading
  • JavaScript (client-side)
  • SQL (PostgreSQL / PostGIS beneficial)
  • Application servers such as WildFly
  • Cloud infrastructure (AWS)
  • Legacy UI technologies (with plans to modernise)
  • Mapping / geospatial libraries (beneficial but not essential)

This role suits someone who enjoys having real ownership of a system and being involved across the full lifecycle, rather than working solely on greenfield features.

Person

We’re looking for someone who is technically strong but also comfortable operating close to the business and its users.

You’ll likely be:

  • An experienced Java developer with a solid background in maintaining and evolving complex production systems
  • Comfortable balancing development work with application support, investigation and troubleshooting
  • Confident communicating with non-technical stakeholders, translating real-world problems into technical solutions
  • Pragmatic and user-focused, with an appreciation for stability, maintainability and incremental improvement
  • Interested in modernising legacy systems sensitively, starting with the UI and user experience
  • Happy working remotely while collaborating closely with a small, trusted team

Experience with mapping, geospatial data, or operational systems is advantageous, but not essential — attitude, problem-solving ability and communication skills are just as important.

Interested in a role where your work directly supports critical global operations, and where modernisation is genuinely on the roadmap?Get in touch to find out more.

Senior Software Developer

RECENTLY POSTED
  • £70,000 + benefits
  • Grantham – hybrid 2 days per week onsite.

If you’re the kind of developer who enjoys building things properly, not just quickly, this could be worth a look!

I’m working with a well-funded, growing tech business that’s investing heavily in its product and engineering function. They’ve got a lot going on right now, new features, new ideas, and plenty of scope to shape how things are built rather than just maintaining what’s already there.

It’s the sort of environment where good engineers are trusted, listened to, and given the space to do their best work.

The role itself is a hands-on senior position, working across the full stack on a modern TypeScript-based platform.

You’ll be helping to build and evolve a conversational, AI-driven product, getting involved in everything from front-end UI work through to backend logic, database design, and deployment.

What’s the Day to Day going to be like:

  • Building new features across a Next.js and React platform, including workflow tools and real-time functionality
  • Developing API routes and server-side logic
  • Designing and working with PostgreSQL databases
  • Creating clean, responsive user interfaces using modern component libraries
  • Writing and improving unit tests and contributing to overall code quality
  • Working closely with product and design to ship features iteratively
  • Getting involved in architectural decisions and technical direction
  • They’re also genuinely embracing AI in the development process, so if you’re already using tools like Copilot or similar (or keen to), you’ll have the chance to push that further here.

What you’ll need to bring:

  • What they’re looking for is a senior engineer with solid professional experience who’s comfortable across the stack.
  • Strong TypeScript and React/Next.js experience is key, along with a good understanding of how modern web applications are put together, from rendering strategies through to APIs and data layers.
  • You’ll need to be someone who cares about clean code, testing, and building things the right way, but also someone pragmatic who can get things shipped.
  • It’s a collaborative environment, so being able to communicate well and work closely with others matters just as much as technical ability.
  • Tech-wise, you’ll be working with a stack that includes Next.js, React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and AWS, along with modern tooling across testing, CI/CD, and observability. Experience with things like Supabase, Tailwind, or state management libraries would be useful, but not essential.

What they’ll offer in return:

  • In return, you’ll be joining a business that’s investing properly in both its product and its people.
  • There’s a strong engineering culture, plenty of interesting technical challenges, and real opportunity to influence how things are done.
  • The setup is hybrid, with two days a week in their Grantham office and the rest remote, offering a good balance between collaboration and flexibility.
  • Salary depending on experience £70,000 + benefits

A great environmental client is looking for Senior Full Stack Engineer with Flask. They don’t just write code; we bridge the gap between heavy-duty engineering algorithms and high-performance digital products. Their optimization tools are used in the world’s most demanding environments—from subsea exploration to offshore wind farms.

They are looking for a Senior Python Developer who wants to move beyond “just another SaaS app” and build sophisticated, full-stack systems that power global infrastructure.

Why Join?

  • High-Impact Engineering: Your code will optimize massive offshore operations and renewable energy sectors.
  • Total Autonomy: You aren’t just a cog in a machine. You will shape the architecture, propose new features, and drive the technical direction of our entire stack.
  • True Full-Stack Variety: From background daemons and parallel computing to sleek front-end interfaces and AWS cloud orchestration.
  • A “Green” Culture: We walk the talk. We offer railcard reimbursements and even contribute to your home energy bills if you’re on a renewable tariff.

The Tech Stack

We are a Flask house looking for a master of the MVT (Model-View-Template) structure. You’ll be taking ownership of:

  • Backend: Python, Flask, Jinja2, SQLAlchemy.
  • Frontend: Vanilla JS (jQuery, AJAX), HTML5, CSS3.
  • Data & Infrastructure: PostgreSQL, Docker, and a deep AWS suite (ECS, RDS, VPC, Boto3).
  • The “Hard” Stuff: Parallel computing, background daemons, and orchestrating complex engineering algorithms.

The Role

As our Senior Developer, you will lead the lifecycle of our cloud-based products from “napkin sketch” to enterprise deployment.

  • Architect: Design full system workflows, databases, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Build: Create background services to run optimization algorithms in parallel.
  • Innovate: Identify and scope new R&D opportunities and contribute to funding bids.
  • Lead: Manage external technical relationships and mentor the next generation of engineers.

About You

You are a developer who loves the “how” as much as the “what.” You should bring:

  • Proven Experience: You’ve led the development of multiple complex web apps using Python/Flask and Jinja2.
  • Full-Stack Fluency: You’re comfortable across the entire lifecycle—front-end, back-end, and AWS deployment.
  • Ownership Mentality: You enjoy taking a code base from an idea to a commercial-grade product.
  • Communication: You can translate complex technical specs into clear plans for stakeholders and subcontractors.

Bonus points if you have experience with GIS Mapping (OpenLayer), Kubernetes, or .Net Core.
