As a Staff Engineer on the Yalla team, you’ll work at the intersection of software engineering and infrastructure—shaping the experience of developers across bp and influencing how modern systems are built and operated at scale.

What You’ll Do

You’ll play a key role in guiding the platform’s technical direction and supporting the engineers who build it. In this role, you will:

• Lead architectural and design decisions for the Yalla platform and set clear engineering standards.
• Partner with the head of engineering to shape priorities and ensure the platform evolves in the right direction.

• Troubleshoot issues across infrastructure, networking, and Kubernetes using Linux tools.
• Identify repetitive work (“toil”) and automate it using SRE and platform engineering practices.
• Build systems with observability in mind so developers and operators have clear insight into how things behave.

3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer

We are in search of a 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer to join Leidos UK within the Defence Team, based Herefordshire.

In response to the success of the growing business, Leidos requires a number of 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineers to support this expansion by helping to create compelling solutions for our existing and future customers.

Responsibilities

The preferred candidate will be primary responsible for the operation and maintenance of MS System Centre Configuration Manager(SCCM)/ Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) but also be demonstrate effective application of Infrastructure and extensive knowledge across a variety of technologies such as Microsoft Windows Server (including services such as AD, DNS, DHCP) and virtualisation (Hyper-V) , Microsoft Stack Technologies (Sharepoint, SQL Server, Skype for Business / Teams), networking technologies and storage.

The role will provide technical exposure variance across both outcomes-based project activities and operational (Business as Usual) support activities. The duties of the role will include on-site support and out of hours on call support.

You will be expected to contribute towards the creation and ongoing maintenance of technical documentation and provide material to support the project work or the operational support service.

Who do we need?

We are looking for someone with a passion for infrastructure, ideally from an operational support services background. You will be self-motivated and be able to work autonomously to achieve day to day objectives with significant results on project or operational deliverables, whilst also owning a variety of activities ensuring compliance with project milestones and customer KPI’s and SLA’s. You must be an effective communicator, comfortable directly engaging with customers and colleagues. You must also demonstrate an analytical and systematic approach to technical challenges.

Ideally, you will:

• Have excellent knowledge of Virtualized Environments such as VMware and Hyper-V;

• Have good general knowledge of SAN storage technologies;
• Have excellent analysis and problem-solving skills, taking ownership of complex incidents ensuring these are resolved to the satisfaction of the customer;

This is a unique role combining hands-on IT support with automation maintenance across a state-of-the-art fulfilment centre. Job Description:

We are seeking an SC Cleared Live Support & Monitoring Engineer to provide operational support across a suite of data integration and analytics platforms. This role focuses on maintaining stability, enhancing monitoring capability, and improving service visibility through consolidated dashboards and intelligent alerting.

Responsibilities

Live Service Support

• Provide ongoing live support across platforms including:

• Denodo
• Talend
• Pentaho Data Integration (PDI)
• Git
• MySQL
• Amazon Redshift

• Investigate, diagnose and resolve incidents across data and integration services
• Work closely with technical teams to maintain service availability and performance

Grafana Monitoring & Alerting

• Design, create and consolidate Grafana dashboards
• Transform multiple independent dashboards into a unified Live Service view with drill-down capability by service
• Gather monitoring requirements from stakeholders
• Configure and implement alerting for legacy services that currently lack monitoring
• Deliver fit-for-purpose alert thresholds and notifications aligned to operational needs
• Improve visibility, observability and proactive incident management

Experience & Skills

Essential

• Active SC Clearance
• Experience supporting live production environments
• Exposure to data platforms such as Denodo, Talend, PDI, MySQL or Redshift
• Experience creating or maintaining Grafana dashboards
• Understanding of monitoring, alerting and service observability principles
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Ability to gather requirements and translate them into monitoring solutions

Desirable

• Experience configuring Grafana alerting
• Experience working in a client-side environment
• Knowledge of legacy system monitoring uplift
• Familiarity with Git version control
