3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer
We are in search of a 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer to join Leidos UK within the Defence Team, based Herefordshire.
In response to the success of the growing business, Leidos requires a number of 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineers to support this expansion by helping to create compelling solutions for our existing and future customers.
Responsibilities
The preferred candidate will be primary responsible for the operation and maintenance of MS System Centre Configuration Manager(SCCM)/ Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) but also be demonstrate effective application of Infrastructure and extensive knowledge across a variety of technologies such as Microsoft Windows Server (including services such as AD, DNS, DHCP) and virtualisation (Hyper-V) , Microsoft Stack Technologies (Sharepoint, SQL Server, Skype for Business / Teams), networking technologies and storage.

IT Support Engineer (MSP)

The Opportunity for you
Are you currently within an MSP and starting to think about what s next? Or maybe you’ve been internal for a while and want to make the move over to a service provider?
This is a genuine progression opportunity within an established MSP that supports close to 300 clients. The business is moving in the right direction and investing properly in its people.
You ll be based full-time in the Lancaster office, working as part of a 5-person technical team. It s a busy, collaborative MSP environment where no two days are the same.
They re looking for a Microsoft-biased engineer who wants more than just ticket closure. The role is split roughly 50% service desk and 50% project work, giving you exposure to both BAU support and infrastructure change. It s a fluid setup, so you ll need to be someone who s comfortable rolling their sleeves up and getting stuck in where needed.
The Service Desk Manager is big on development. Upskilling is actively encouraged and progression is very real one member of the team started as an apprentice and is now a shareholder. That should tell you everything about the culture and long-term opportunity here.
You ll be supporting external customers, so being comfortable managing expectations and communicating clearly is key. While the role is office-based, you will also visit client sites when required, so a driving licence is essential.

As part of a dedicated DBA team, the successful candidate will be instrumental in managing an extensive Oracle database estate, ranging from legacy systems to modern deployments.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 24x7 database management and administration expertise in high availability environments.
Conduct proactive maintenance and monitoring of Oracle databases.
utilise change, problem, incident, and release management tools effectively.
Liaise with third-party service centres as necessary.
Perform technical analyses and engage with other technical leads to adopt best practises.
Assist in application/system transitions to ensure standby and site failover capabilities.
Offer technical assistance and mentoring to junior resources.
Monitor and respond to incidents and requests using workflow management tools.
Knowledge and Qualifications Required:
Degree or higher educational qualification, coupled with significant IT experience.
ITIL certification (minimum foundation level; higher preferred).
Industry-recognised technical certification in database administration.
Experience Required:
Extensive experience in Oracle 12-19C Database and RAC Administration.
Proficient in Oracle ASM, RMAN, GoldenGate, and Enterprise Manager.
Basic UNIX administration and KSH shell scripting skills.
Familiarity with OpenVMS is a plus.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience in writing and reviewing technical documentation.

Experience in supporting business-critical, real-time systems.
Capability to work independently or as part of a motivated team.
Previous involvement in 2nd line Out Of Hours support and on-site attendance as required.
