The Role

Working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be based primarily from the client’s Liverpool office, with regular travel to Holyhead, North Wales - typically two nights per week. About the job.

National Highways have an excellent opportunity for a Service Delivery Manager to oversee and control the delivery of highway asset maintenance and repair works across the North West Region. The Service Delivery Manager will oversee and control the delivery of maintenance and repair works across the Region, ensuring all activities, whether routine or reactive, meet the required technical, quality and safety standards with a strong focus on customer service.

This role will be based out of our Warrington office.

Please note that you will be required to drive as part of your role, and you will need to have no more than 3 points to be considered for this position and during employment.

  • Managing supplier performance to agreed contractual service level agreements, technical, quality and safety standards, including the investigation of breaches of service level targets and service non-availability, with the instigation of remedial activities.
  • Proactively tracking and monitoring the performance of the assigned contract scope, identifying performance trends, risks and issues.
  • Analysing the root causes for performance issues and work with colleagues and supply chain to develop and implement remedial action plans.
  • Overseeing the cyclical and reactive maintenance work plans for the designated Routes and ensuring the delivery of planned works whilst minimising customer disruption. This may include supporting the on-call rota and occasional nighttime site visits.
  • Manage local customer engagement and communication activities, as required, working closely with colleagues and contractors to identify and address service delivery requests and concerns, providing feedback in a timely and customer focused manner.

About you.

  • Strong understanding of relevant technical asset policies and strategies
  • Understanding of relevant supply chain contracts, and experience of budget, contract, performance and supply chain management
  • Proven experience in highway asset maintenance decision making with strong planning and project delivery skills.
  • Experience of providing quality customer and stakeholder liaison.
  • Proven experience in a fast paced, 24/7 service delivery environment

What you’ll be doing

As the SAP Time Functional Consultant, you’ll play a key role across delivery, optimisation and support of SAP Time Management solutions. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Partnering with business stakeholders to gather, analyse and document requirements across time and attendance processes, including working time, absences, overtime and shift planning
  • Designing, configuring and supporting SAP Time Management (PT), including time schemas (PE01), time rules (PE02), time types, absence types, work schedules and public holiday calendars
  • Supporting multiple SAP Time-related projects, with a focus on data gathering, system functionality and issue resolution
  • Ensuring seamless integration between SAP Time Management and other SAP HCM modules such as Payroll (PY), Organisational Management (OM) and Personnel Administration (PA)
  • Producing clear functional specifications and working collaboratively with ABAP developers to deliver high-quality solutions
  • Leading and supporting testing activities, including unit testing, integration testing and UAT, as well as managing defects through to resolution
  • Creating and maintaining high-quality documentation, process flows and training materials
  • Providing post-go-live support and end-user training to drive confident system adoption
  • Continuously identifying opportunities to improve processes and solutions in line with SAP best practice

What we’re looking for

We’re keen to speak with professionals who bring strong SAP Time experience and a collaborative mindset. You’ll ideally have:

  • Proven, hands-on experience as a SAP Functional Consultant specialising in SAP Time Management (PT)
  • Strong configuration expertise across time schemas, time rules, work schedules and absence/attendance types
  • Solid understanding of time evaluation, positive and negative time recording, and time data integration
  • Experience working on multiple SAP Time projects, including at least two full lifecycle implementations
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into practical SAP solutions
  • Clear and confident communication skills, able to explain complex system concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • The confidence to work independently while collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholders

Desirable experience (but not essential)

  • SAP Time Management certification
  • Experience with SAP HANA Time Management
  • Exposure to xAtlas or other third-party time management systems
  • Experience in a comparable enterprise or regulated environment
