Managing Second line technical support:

  • Responsible for the allocation of workforce and resources to allow issues to be resolved across several IT Domains.
  • Coordinate the prioritisation of tasking to achieve larger elements of work to be completed efficiently and on time.
  • Encourage and guide 2nd Line Engineers in their careers, to grow and improve their skills.
  • Maintain and grow trust and confidence with customers, through ensuring that all of the customers feel respected and understood.
  • Carry out escalation of all incidents that are unable to be fixed or repaired by Level 2 engineers.
  • Meeting with customers to understand legacy issues that they are experiencing and looking at trying to find a way forward to repair the issue.

Key Duties

Second Line Tasking - organising and planning future tasks and evolutions that are required to ensure that 2nd line have the resources to undertake the task.

Early Life Support – Organising and understanding requirements for bringing in new systems and technologies into the core services area of support.

Line management – making sure that all my engineers are supported fully with all issues they may face. It is my responsibility to make sure that both in and out of work my engineers feel supported and that I maintain a good work life balance for all.

Major incidents – in the event of major outage I am responsible for assisting and managing the effort to restore services, I will be involved in the progress update.

Problem solving - being a point of contact for 2nd line engineers to come to with issues, whether being able to solve issue or escalate them to the authorities.

Representative -being a focal point for second line engineers, attending all mandatory meeting and event to voice both achievements and issues being experienced by level 2 engineers.

Your key focus will be to maintain/improve and deliver the Service that is delivered to clients. You will ensure maximum responsiveness to clients, ensure KPI’s are met, be the final escalation point for any grievances form the client and remediate or put new services in place to ensure the client has the service they require.

You will be lead the Service Strategy and ensure that the maximum level of service is always delivered, you will be working directly with the Directorship of the overall Cyber Division taking their vision and being a translation Matrix and converting it into a feasible and deliverable service model. You will be expected to operate at the highest levels of compliance and ensure the team do too.

You will be working directly with some of the biggest clients the business has, to improve the current relationship and enable the business to be a trusted advisor on all Security Managed Services they utilise.

Lots of new services are being brought on in 2026 and you will be instrumental in bringing these into the portfolio and ensuring the service level always remains sky high.

Key skills

  • Proven experience in leading large-scale cyber security operations, including SOC, cyber engineering, and managed security services.

The Role:
As a Fire & Security Engineer, you will:

  • Install, service, and maintain fire and security systems across a varied portfolio of commercial and residential sites
  • Complete PPMs, reactive call-outs, and ensure compliance documentation is accurate
  • Develop your skills on the job - whether you’re more confident in service or installation, the team will support you to expand your expertise
  • Provide a professional, customer-focused approach while representing one of the most trusted names in the industry

What We’re Looking For:

  • Recent apprentices or experienced engineers seeking career growth
  • A motivated, reliable engineer who is happy to work independently or as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn new systems and take on both service and installation tasks
  • Full UK driving licence
