How You Will Make an Impact

Expert Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Leverage electrical and PLC (when trained) expertise to swiftly resolve manufacturing issues and optimise machine operations.
Proactive Maintenance: Drive system reliability through routine maintenance, fault diagnosis, and obsolescence management while upholding 6S standards.
Documentation & Compliance: Maintain comprehensive technical records, ensure adherence to safety protocols, and uphold industry regulations.
Collaborative Problem-Solving: Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve challenges, mentor junior staff, and manage change control processes effectively.
Training & Knowledge Sharing: Identify skill gaps, deliver impactful training, and develop SOPs to empower teams and ensure seamless equipment integration.

What We Are Looking For

HND/NVQ in electrical engineering /instrumentation or related field
Proficient in the use of multimeters, diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to troubleshoot equipment and perform complex system tests
Ambition to learn and develop skills in PLC and automation in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment

THE ROLE: Refrigeration Engineer, Service Engineer, FGAS, Electrical, ODS

As our Engineer, you’ll be working as part of a sizable national refrigeration service and install team (over 20 Engineers), usually covering the area in between Stoke - Warrington. You know you will be home every night and that’s important to you.

On rare occasions you may be asked to help further afield to cover holiday/sickness, but only in extreme circumstances. There is paid overtime.

No two days will be the same, you will support on installation, planned service and fault-finding reactive diagnostics work covering controllers, refrigeration circuits, cooling issues, PLC updates, valves and calibration work - so there will be plenty of variety for you.

You will be managed by an experienced hands-on service manager who joined the business as an apprentice and is now leading the engineering team.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES: Refrigeration Engineer, Service Engineer, FGAS, Electrical, ODS

· You’ll be competent electrically and mechanically on suitable refrigeration circuits and climatic systems
· You’re happy with some installation work, but predominately service and fault-finding / diagnostics
· You’ll be happy working alone or as part of a team post your product and systems training

YOUR BACKGROUND: Refrigeration Engineer, Service Engineer, FGAS, Electrical, ODS

· You will be experienced electrically and mechanically, ideally qualified 18th edition and have your FGAS & ODS Regs 2079
· Your practical work experience will cover commercial / industrial refrigeration, chillers or similar
· If you have cascade experience - that would be advantageous but is not essential

Our Client has a requirement for a Senior EC&I Engineer, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Warrington.

Role Purpose:

Support the discipline Lead Engineer by providing technical delivery of schedule items.
Provide relevant engineering underpinning through collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team and wider industry stakeholders.
Oversee the translation of complex user requirements into fully engineered, safe, and legal design solutions.

Job Role Responsibilities:

Deriving high-level engineering solutions through structured optioneering processes and the down-selection of instrumentation/remote handling systems.
Developing engineering specifications, including structured requirements management and validation.
Determining data requirements for tracking and records management capabilities in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Defining critical interfaces between Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) systems.
Producing comprehensive design drawings and documentation at all applicable stages of the gated design process.
Engaging other disciplines and stakeholders at key lifecycle points while maintaining awareness of project management fundamentals.
Ensuring all deliverables are completed in line with rigorous checking and approval processes.

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:

Related engineering discipline (Electrical & Electronic / Controls & Instruments). Degree qualification and Professional Registration (IET, IoP, InstMC) are highly desirable.
Significant demonstrable experience in EC&I project delivery within highly regulated industries (e.g., Nuclear).
Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory environments, including the Nuclear Installations Act, HASAWA, EWR, and IRR.
Experience in process instrumentation systems and determining solutions for data management capabilities prior to IT/OT delivery.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work individually or as part of an integrated delivery team under restrictive time constraints.
Experience with nuclear encapsulation, functional safety (TUV), BS 7671:2018 (18th Edition), AutoCAD 2D, and specific gated process training (Design Change Awareness/Checking & Approvals).
