About the Role
Working across an Assets and Connections Portfolio, you will produce high quality electrical designs to an agreed scope. Designs to be delivered to cost, time and quality targets. All designs must meet Networks design and CDM standards. These designs could be for both non-contestable and contestable works.
Responsibilities
Produce Electrical Designs that can be constructed in compliance with standards and CDM requirements with little or no management.
Deliver designs, which conform to all relevant Codes of Practice and company and industry standards (for all designs relevant to Sub-stations), together with Electrical Design.
Contribute to the production of technical, commercial and contractual documents for procurement of engineering products.
Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations and company procedures.
Compliance with design assurance and audit processes.
Preparation of concept and developed design, from specifications and drawings within defined periods.
Provide an excellent service to the customer.
Work as a Team Player within larger diverse teams.
Collaborate with the operational teams to guarantee a smooth process from initial enquiry through to final energisation and project closure.
Comply with the requirements of the designer / principal designer as determined by the 2015 CDM Regulations.
Ensure design eliminates any hazards which may give rise to risks; and reduce risks from any remaining hazards (together with CDM).
Support other members of the team to enhance their technical experience.
Qualifications
Electrical engineering background.
Knowledge of power system and protection design at 132KV, 33KV, 11KV, and intermediate voltages.
Degree level or equivalent in engineering or science.
Work towards achieving Chartership.
Knowledge of design processes and DNO, ENA and International Design Standards including relevant operational aspects to deliver designs.
Work with external engineering organisations and customers/partners representing UKPN to best effect.
Peer review designs within specific area.
A good safety culture and sound understanding of Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations and their application in this role.
Work unsupervised, set and comply with own targets, and identify cost-saving solutions.
Good team working skills.
A good level of business, environmental, safety, financial, and regulatory awareness.
A general appreciation of financial reporting systems.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Shift Engineer to join a leading building services provider on a high-profile critical site in the City of London. About the Role:
Exciting opportunity to work In House / Client Direct for a very well known financial institution in London. My client is looking for an Electrical or Mechanically biassed Maintenance Engineer to be based across 2 critical / commercial buildings next to each other in London. The successful candidates will be electrically or mechanically biased (C&G / NVQ) with a proven track record in commercial building maintenance, ideally within a critical site (i.e. Bank, Data centre, Blue chip office etc). Working with the maintenance team on site, he or she will be required to carry out mechanical, electrical and fabric maintenance to the following. In return the company is offering a competitive package of £45,000 + 10% bonus + AP Training and AP allowance once training complete.
